The hare has a small head and a much smaller ear than the rabbit. Compared with the rabbit, the ear is slightly longer and the ear tip is black. The ear length of the adult hare is generally 13 cm, which is 5 cm for the length of the body. The limbs are slender and strong, and the hind legs are very strong. Powerful is also longer than ordinary rabbits, agile, timid, good at running. The body size is much smaller than that of rabbits, with a body length of 35 cm to 43 cm, a tail length of 7 cm and an adult hare of 2. 5%. About 3 kilograms.

Habitat habit

Wild rabbits usually eat every two days and like to be dry. Like to live in low, dry bushes, late at night or early in the morning from the habitat down the mountain path to the shrubby foot, orchard, roadside feeding. The hare has almost no fat in its body.

The hare has a strong concealment, and when it is motionless, its coat color is mixed with the surrounding weeds, which is difficult to detect even if it is within a meter, and the hare seems to know this, and suddenly springs out under its feet when people are not noticing. Instead, it startles people. Whether it is a hare or a rabbit, we usually can't hear them, and we even think that the rabbit can't scream, but it's not. Screams will be made when frightened or captured, especially when captured, similar to the sound of a baby crying, and the timid will feel scared.

The hare usually moves alone and has no hole in the ground. They run fast to escape danger, and can run at speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour.

Food habit

Rabbits feed on weeds, leaves and other plants, and there are a wide range of artificial feed sources, such as various forage, green vegetables, straw and so on. Generally, they are fed with green feed and succulent feed for breakfast and lunch, and green feed and a small amount of pellet feed at night.

Reproductive habit

Hares live alone or in pairs, are generally shy animals and change their behavior patterns in the spring. Male rabbits chase each other during the day to show their superiority. Female rabbits, on the other hand, "punch" males, seemingly to indicate that they are not ready to mate or to test the determination of males.

The hare is alert, sensitive in hearing and vision, runs away quickly, hides tightly, has strong fecundity, and has many enemies, but there are few animals that can catch it. It sleeps during the day and goes out at night, and especially likes to take the fixed path that has been repeated many times. From dusk, all night activities, sometimes the dawn is not home, the day is dark or drizzle, the road is broken and sparse people, also come out for activities. Its feeding habits are complex, depending on the habitat environment, generally like to eat tender grass, wild vegetables and the leaves of some shrubs, grass roots in winter, hare active in the vicinity of farmland, stealing sweet potatoes, vegetables and newly unearthed bean seedlings, especially soybean seedlings, broad bean seedlings and soybean seedlings. It gives birth to three or four babies a year in a shallow and secluded rabbit nest, each with 6 babies, and the young rabbits can run a few hours after birth.

Growing environment

Rabbits like to live in mixed forests with water and trees, sandy desert areas in grassland areas, especially in prickly young forests of Robinia pseudoacacia. Where there are the following three conditions, the number of rabbits is more, otherwise it is less.

There are hidden young forests of locust, barren beaches with small trees, and so on.

It can look around the enemy's hole without affecting the fleeing zone, the high grass in the dense high forest belt hinders its lookout and flight, and the steep slope is not conducive to its activities.

There are water sources near the food, legume farmland and radish and cabbage fields near the barren slopes, there are often many hares, and the effect of water on hares is very important, so there are few hares in water-deficient areas. The hare does not have a fixed habitat, except during the breeding period. Usually lead a wandering life. Live in dense young forests and bushes in spring and summer. In autumn and winter, all the grass withered, and rabbits like to hide in soil bumps, or other places they think are suitable. It uses its front claws to dig a shallow hole to hide. This small hole, about 30 cm long and less than 10 cm deep, happens to put the front and back legs in, while the body is exposed, shallow in front and deep in back, in the shape of a dustpan, and the back is slightly higher than the horizon. Invisible by the role of protective color, scared to escape or foraging to leave, convenient and rapid.
