Hare is a kind of special wild herbivorous economic animal with both skin, hair and meat, which mainly feeds on all kinds of weeds, green vegetables, leaves and so on. After years of domestication, the hare has changed its timidity, fear and some bad habits of the rabbit, while maintaining the characteristics of the wild hare, such as strong resistance, large size, strong cold resistance and wide adaptability (it can grow healthily in both the south and north of China), but the average meat yield has doubled. At present, the consumption of rabbit meat market is exuberant, which ensures the benefit of breeding.
The meat of the hare is delicate and mellow, which belongs to Shanzhen game. It is designated as "beauty meat" and "health meat" by the World Rabbit Association. The hare sheet skin has fine fiber, soft after leather making, good elasticity and air permeability, and can be tanned into plain leather, wrinkled leather, suede leather and high-grade oil tanned leather.
