(Taiwan Business Daily News) Lian Mingyue, a 63-year-old veteran Taiwanese opera star, has been obsessed with the stage for many years. On May 19, she will perform at the municipal building on Taiwan Avenue, hoping to encourage the unemployed to regain their courage and return to work through a drama with both traditional and modern humor.

In order to encourage people at the low ebb of unemployment to return to work, the Chinese caring Family support Association, which was once a household name, invited Hua Dan, the head of Chinese TV opera, Lian Mingyue, to perform at the city government, and held a press conference yesterday (15). Press Director Shi Jingwen, City Councillor Shen Youlian, Li Zhong, Liu Shizhou and others were present to pay their respects.

Lian Mingyue, dressed in costume, first opened with a wonderful traditional dance, then sang with the host, witty and lively talk about the performance to be unveiled in the city hall at 2: 00 p.m. on May 19, which attracted a lot of laughter from the attendees.

Despite the declining trend of Taiwanese opera, Lian Mingyue has been performing hard on the stage for many years and has set up a "traditional Culture performance Troupe of Mingyuyuan." at present, there is a regular performance at Wuqi fishing Port in Taichung City.

Lian Mingyue said that she was born into a Taiwanese opera family. She performed with her parents at the age of 3, and once performed with Taiwanese opera stars such as Yang Lihua and "Xiao Mingming" Wu Mingxia. Although she is 63 years old, she has not given up acting. "this is a mission!" She stressed that it was a blessing to be able to "ride over (Taiwanese)" on the stage at such an age.

She also called on the unemployed not to be discouraged and to come out bravely. Old people are not able to work, nor do they need to rely solely on the younger generation, but to work hard on their own.

For the upcoming performance in the city hall, even Ming Yue also thanked Mayor Hu Zhiqiang for his full support. She said that she had performed in the karaoke hall before and realized that modern people may be highly receptive to humorous and interesting performances because of great pressure. therefore, she will combine the spirit of traditional Taiwanese opera, but integrate into the modern funny plot to make the audience happy.
