breeding facilities

In addition to the basic equipment mentioned above, artificial insemination, artificial egg collection, balance, microscope, various syringes, disinfection and oxytocin drugs should also be equipped.

When the maturity reaches five stages, the selection of parent salamanders

Giant salamanders generally mature and lay eggs around mid-August. The age of sexual maturity of parent salamander is generally more than 5 years, 6 years old is the best for artificial breeding selection, and both male and female parent salamander should be healthy without injury.

Selection, dosage and injection method of exogenous hormones

Commonly used exogenous hormones are chorionic gonadotropin (HCG), luteinizing hormone releasing hormone analogue (LRH-A), luteinizing hormone releasing hormone A2 (LHRH-A2), diohone (DOM), carp pituitary gland (PC) and so on. Dosage depends on the situation, general chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) 700-1200 μ g/kg, luteinizing hormone releasing hormone analog (LRH-A) 5-40 μ g/kg, Diohone (DOM) 0.5 - 2 μ g/kg combined with luteinizing hormone releasing hormone A2 (LHRH-A2), can better promote gonadotropin (GtH) release and ovulation. For giant salamander with better maturity or first use of exogenous hormones, the injection dose is correspondingly less, otherwise, the appropriate increase in dosage. The injection site should be inserted between the rib grooves on the back, and the depth of insertion should pass through the muscle layer and enter the abdominal cavity.
