On the mountain of Yanguang Village, Longan Town, Linshui County, which is more than 800 meters above sea level, such a scene occurs every two or three days: a man carries a half-bag of corn up the hill and scatters the grain outside a simple shed, and a group of fragrant pigs covered in mud come from all directions to "look for food."

The man's name is Deng Youquan, 46 years old, this group of "mud pigs" is the "music pigs" he raised in the mountains. "the pigs run all over the mountain all day, and the grass roots and mud on the mountain are their favorite food." Deng Youquan says that pigs are gregarious animals, often three or four live in groups, and it is safe to keep them in the mountains. "they are very smart. They look for food in the mountains during the day and return to the enclosure by themselves after dark. They have a lot of skills to survive in the wild, and the cost I put into it is also very low!"

In Deng Youquan's view, the reason for the cleverness of these "mountain-based" pigs is that he insists on playing soft music to ease their mood. How do you think of listening to music for pigs? Deng Youquan said it was due to an unexpected discovery.

Three years ago, Deng Youquan, who returned to his hometown to start a business, read in the newspaper that playing music was good for the growth of pigs, so he immediately set up a loudspeaker in the forest and started an experiment. "these pigs really have 'music cells'. Under the influence of music, their temper has become more and more gentle, and their appetite has also increased!" Deng Youquan pointed to several pigs playing in the woods and said, "when they listen to music, their tails keep wagging, and some pigs are still rolling 'dancing' on the ground!"

In 2013, the news that Deng Youquan listened to songs for pigs was spread. "Music Pig" hit the market, and customers said that his pigs were "tender, fat but not greasy." In 2013, his "music pig" sold for 80 yuan per kilogram, with an annual income of 700,000 yuan to 800,000 yuan.

Deng Youquan said that the "music pigs" he raised this year were fully booked as early as four months ago, and most of them were regular customers in Chongqing. Starting from next year, he will raise hybrids of black, wild and Landrace pigs to further improve his viability in the wild.
