Zhang Yufen's history of raising geese began in 2010. She originally raised tilapia and built a tilapia breeding base. Later, she intended to make a transition, raising black and brown geese at the edge of fish ponds while raising fish. She said that at the beginning, it was free-range, but the output was small due to lack of technology. Later, he slowly came up with a method of raising black and brown geese, and planned to expand the scale.

In 2012, she contracted more than 200 mu of fish ponds in Dazhou Village, Baitu Town, and planned to build a standardized meat goose fence at the edge of the pond, but encountered financial bottlenecks. After the municipal and district women's federations learned of this situation, in August of that year, they helped her obtain a discount loan of 300000 yuan from the provincial women's federation. "We have built a professional goose raising shed with loans." Zhang Yufen said.

Since then, Zhang Yufen has embarked on the road of industrialization. In 2013, the market registered a trademark, established a brand, and increased its market influence and market share. At present, Zhang Yufen goose farm investment has reached more than 7 million yuan, covering an area of more than 600 mu, there are 11 goose sheds, each can raise more than 6000 geese. The annual output has grown from 30,000 in 2011 to more than 200,000 now. The products are mainly sold to Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao, Guangzhou and other places, with annual sales of more than 20 million yuan. When he is rich, he does not forget to drive his neighbor Zhang Yufen to become rich, but at the same time, he does not forget the farmers around him.

After years of practice, Zhang Yufen and his wife have mastered a set of relatively mature techniques for raising geese, and they are often invited by agricultural departments in Gaoyao areas and Zhaoqing Agricultural School to give lectures, and there are often people who admire people who come to learn from them. They compiled a pamphlet on the technique of raising black and brown geese and gave it to students free of charge. There are villagers next to their goose farm, while working, while learning skills, go home after a year or two to raise their own geese, and finally become the boss. Zhang Yufen sees it in her eyes, but sweetness in her heart.

In recent years, Zhang Yufen and his wife have promoted more than 1100 people in surrounding towns such as Baitu, Huilong, Jiaotang, and Jiaogang to breed black and brown geese in the form of popular science publicity and technical training. In June 2015, Zhang Yufen's breeding base was jointly awarded by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance as the "Rural Science Popularization demonstration Base" of the China Association for Science and Technology, becoming the only national "science popularization demonstration base" in Gaoyao area.

In addition to technology to help others, Zhang Yufen also from the seedlings, feed and sales channels to support the surrounding goose farmers, so that these farmers achieved better economic benefits. It is understood that the annual per capita net income of farmers is 39000 yuan, while in 2015, the annual per capita net income of Baitu Town is only 17000 yuan.

Zhang Yufen and his wife believe that the more geese raised by surrounding farmers, they can create a Chinese black and brown goose breeding base and form a big market and national brand. For the development of the base, Zhang Yufen already has a goal in mind: to further expand the scale of raising geese to keep 100000 geese; to establish their own slaughterhouse for the initial processing of geese; and to establish their own sales points in various localities.
