There are peasant household consultation, the family has a water surface of about 2 mu of clear water mountain pond, now want to use to raise ricefield eel. Since I have never raised Monopterus Albus before, I don't know how difficult it is to raise it, and I don't know what preparation to do. In addition, how much is its upfront cost? Is there a big risk? Where can I find a good species of eel?

After consulting experts and searching technical data, Monopterus Albus has a strong ability to adapt to the environment, and some abandoned water bodies that are not suitable for breeding other fish and puddles and ponds that are not suitable for growing crops can be used as yellow eel ponds. Therefore, artificial breeding of ricefield eel is not very difficult, under the premise of disease prevention and escape prevention measures, the risk of breeding is not very great.

For mountain ponds, first of all, it is necessary to ensure that there is no leakage to prevent the eel from escaping, and the water inlet, drain and overflow must be repaired for water exchange and drainage. Fish blocking facilities must also be installed at each nozzle to prevent eels from escaping when the pool water rises under heavy rain. In order to facilitate the growth of Monopterus Albus, the natural environment can be artificially imitated for the habitat of Monopterus Albus, such as throwing stones and roots in the pond, and aquatic plants such as floating lotus and Sagittaria can be planted in the pond to improve the water quality.

The eel seedlings selected for stocking must be disease-free, robust, smooth, golden and light yellow in color, and the growth rate is not very fast if the color is too dark. Generally choose about 30 eel seedlings per kilogram. Eel seedlings must be neatly sized and of the same size. The stocking density is about 100 eel seedlings with a weight of 25 grams per square meter (66700 seedlings per mu of water). Eel seedlings should be disinfected with 3% salt water before entering the pond, which is a relatively simple method. In addition, the effect of stocking eel seedlings in early spring is better, which is beneficial to the early feeding of ricefield eel and prolong the growth period.

Monopterus Albus is a carnivorous omnivorous fish with a wide range of food sources, such as small fish and shrimp, earthworms, animal offal and offal, tadpoles, silkworm pupa, snail meat, rice, melon peel, vegetable crumbs and so on. The daily feeding amount is about 6% of the weight of Monopterus Albus, it is appropriate to have a little surplus after feeding, and the residual food should be cleaned up in time. Generally, they are fed twice a day, 1/3 of the daily food intake at 9: 00 am and 2/3 of the daily food intake at 6: 00 pm. Feeding can not be more and less, sometimes stop, otherwise it will affect the growth of Monopterus Albus.

It is necessary to adjust the water quality of fish ponds and do a good job in preventing heat and overwintering Monopterus Albus. The water depth of the Monopterus Albus pool should be between 15-25 cm, which can be further deepened in the hot season. When the weather changes suddenly (from sunny to rainy in rainy days or rainy in sunny days) and muggy weather, new water should be injected in time to prevent rice field eel from floating its head frequently due to lack of oxygen. The suitable water temperature for the growth of Monopterus Albus is between 15 ℃ and 28 ℃. In summer, some shading crops can be planted around the yellow eel pond, and the pool water can be changed frequently, and well water or spring water can be injected in time (the water temperature can not be too different). Monopterus Albus is dormant when the water temperature is below 10 ℃. Therefore, when the temperature drops to about 15 ℃, ricefield eel should be fed with high-quality bait. When Monopterus Albus overwinters, it is necessary to keep the pond mud moist and warm to prevent frostbite and death of Monopterus Albus. In addition, we should also pay attention to prevent the harm of rats.

According to the actual situation, we can also consider group culture in cages. It is better to put the rice field eel seedlings with a tail weight of 20-30 grams, full at a time, 3-5 kilograms per square meter. At present, the price of eel seedlings on the market is about 24 yuan per kilogram, and you can also buy wild eel seedlings by yourself. Ricefield eel in natural waters generally has no disease.
