What is the sex ratio of Monopterus Albus during reproduction?

In the breeding season, the ratio of male to female of Monopterus Albus is roughly as follows: when the weight of male is larger than that of female, it is more than one male; generally, it is one male, two females or three females; when the weight of male is similar to that of female, it is one male and one female; when the weight of male is less than that of female eel, it is more than one female.

How does Monopterus Albus reproduce seedlings?

Every year, when the breeding season comes, mature parent eels often spit foam into nests near rocks, caves, weeds or aquatic plants, in which the females lay their eggs. At the same time, the male eel excreted semen to fertilize, and the fertilized eggs hatched on the water surface with the help of foam buoyancy. When the water temperature was 20-28 ℃, the eel seedlings broke the membrane in about 7 days.

The female eel leaves the nest after spawning and the male eel or facultative male rice field eel has the habit of protecting eggs. Keep it until the rice field eel seedlings hatch and wait for its oocysts to disappear and be free to look for food.
