Ensuring adequate and high quality feed is the key factor for rapid and high yield of Monopterus Albus. Because Monopterus Albus is an omnivorous fish based on animal feed, and its feed sources are extensive and easy to obtain, Monopterus Albus breeders can use the existing resources to collect and cultivate live bait.

Introduction of improved varieties of earthworms

Make full use of raw materials such as cow dung and domestic waste to cultivate earthworms. Daping No.2, Beixing No.2 and Chizi Aisheng are the best varieties. Earthworms can be raised with abandoned wooden buckets and pots, drilling a small hole in the bottom with a diameter of 2 cm, and covered with gauze cloth to facilitate ventilation and drainage; you can also dig holes in places with good drainage or raise them with brick ponds.

Breeding maggots

Can be self-made fly cage, to the maggot farm to buy improved species of housefly, the production of aseptic maggots, can also be mounted by local method, 0.5 kg of soybeans into a pulp, poured into a water tank that can hold 40-50 kg of water, add 2.5 kg of fresh pig blood and 10 kg of water to mix well, maggots can grow after a week.

Captive snails

A number of bamboo cages were hung around the culture pond, and the cage mesh 4mur6 mesh. A certain number of species snails were closed in the cage, and the snail cage 2 + 3 was immersed in water. Most of the young snails crawled out of the cage and could feed on Monopterus Albus. You can also go to canals and rice fields to pick up snails, shell and shred and feed eels.

Light lure insects

Two black lights are hung up and down over each eel pond, and the upper one is properly suspended to attract distant moths, while the lower one is lower, preferably 20cm from the surface of the eel pond. When it is just dark, turn on the high-altitude black light, and when it is found that the moths are clustered around the high-altitude light, turn on the water surface black light and turn off the high-altitude light. At this time, the high-altitude moth will quickly swoop down and gather around the water lamp. At the same time, due to the reflection of electric lights in the water, many moths will rush into the water and bury themselves in the belly of eels. When there are few moths over the pool, turn on the high-altitude black light to lure. So repeatedly, 30% of Monopterus Albus feed can be obtained by using this method in summer and autumn.

Collection of water earthworm provenance

Dig a shallow pool where there is a drain, there should be humus mud at the bottom, keep a water depth of 5-6 cm, apply some fermented organic fertilizer regularly, and water earthworms will multiply in large numbers.
