Wild eel seedlings were cultured artificially. When small-scale and low-density eels were fed with fresh bait such as earthworms, small mixed fish, clams, snails, insects and so on, ricefield eel could quickly form feeding habits. However, there are obvious disadvantages when feeding this kind of bait on a large scale (more than 1000 square meters) and high density (more than 1 kg / square meter), such as difficult long-term stable supply of bait, high feed coefficient and so on. Therefore, large-scale artificial breeding of Monopterus Albus must be domesticated to feed on artificial bait. At present, there is a special feed for yellow eel stove in China, which has the advantages of high feeding rate, fast weight gain and low feed coefficient. The specific operations of domestication are as follows:

Domestication method

The fresh clam meat was frozen and processed into minced meat with a 6mm mold hole in a meat grinder. Mix minced meat with water and sprinkle evenly. The rice field eel was fed once every day from 5pm to 7pm, and the feeding amount was controlled within 1% of the total amount of ricefield eel. This amount of feeding is much lower than that of Monopterus Albus, so Monopterus Albus is always in a state of hunger in order to establish a conditioned reflex of concentrated feeding in Monopterus Albus population. Three days later, it was observed that Monopterus Albus was fed vigorously, so it was changed to fixed-point feeding. Generally set 4-6 points every 20 square meters, continue to feed for 2 days, the feeding amount is still 1%, at this time Monopterus Albus can be eaten in 3 minutes. On the 6th day, the artificial compound feed was given once every day from 5 to 7 p.m., and was directly sprinkled into the fixed-point feeding area. The feeding amount was 2% of the body weight of the eel seedlings, and it was eaten within 15 minutes in order to improve the utilization rate of the feed.

Preparation of artificial compound Feed for Monopterus Albus

The special feed produced by the feed factory cannot be fed directly, but must be prepared first. 65% of the special feed for Monopterus Albus is mixed with 35% fresh clam pulp (processed by 3mm 4mm meat grinder) and an appropriate amount of Wanlong No. 5 (Monopterus Albus digestion enhancer). It is fully mixed into dough by hand or with a blender, and then pressed into a soft strip bait with a diameter of 3mm and a length of 3mm by a 3mm molded meat grinder, which can be slightly dried and fed. The feeding effect of the prepared bait is very ideal. In the large-scale culture with soil, the feed coefficient is 3, and in the factory culture with soilless running water, the feed coefficient can be reduced to 22.5.
