Loach is a kind of aquatic economic animal with delicious meat, high nutritional value and strong adaptability, which is loved by the majority of consumers. Misgurnus anguillicaudatus aquaculture has gradually sprung up, but the use of rice fields to cultivate Loach is still rare.

The choice of paddy field

The paddy fields with good water source conditions, loose and fertile soil, strong water and fertilizer conservation and easy management should be selected. At the same time, the ridge of the field should be strengthened, sufficient organic fertilizer should be applied to the seedlings of Misgurnus anguillicaudatus before stocking, and the rice field should be completely disinfected with quicklime.

Seedling time and stocking density

After transplanting rice seedlings in rice fields, we can start stocking, raising Loach parents 10 kg per mu, in the case of no bait, about 75 kg per mu can be produced. It should be noted that Misgurnus anguillicaudatus should not be mixed with other fish at the same time.

Field management

The rice fields with Loach should be managed by special personnel. when controlling rice pests, high-efficiency and low-toxic pesticides can be applied according to the conventional dosage, and the spraying method of deep water and upward nozzles should be adopted when spraying pesticides. Because Loach lives in mud, generally speaking, it is much safer to apply pesticides and chemical fertilizers in rice fields than other fish in rice fields, but the use of toxaphene, carbofuran, quicklime and tea cakes must be prohibited. In the high temperature season, the field should be properly irrigated with deep water to adjust the water temperature to avoid burning the Loach to death. At ordinary times, it is necessary to often check and repair fish-blocking facilities and plug loopholes in time to strictly prevent poultry from going to the fields to swallow Loach.

Harvesting method

Misgurnus anguillicaudatus is difficult to catch because it lurks in the mud. However, according to the living habits of Misgurnus anguillicaudatus in different seasons, the following methods can be adopted to harvest: in winter, several piles of pig and cow manure are stacked in the deeper mud layer of the field for composting, so as to lure Loach to concentrate in the manure pile for many times of fishing; open the water inlet and outlet in spring and load the bamboo basket, and the Loach will naturally enter with the water. In autumn, all the water in the field will be drained and re-exposed to the hard skin of the field, and then poured into a layer of thin water to be caught by the net after a large number of Loach comes out of the mud.
