Because the density of crayfish in natural water is small, aquatic animals and plants can basically meet their requirements, so they grow better. However, in the artificial feeding environment, due to the high breeding density and the lack of natural food, artificial feeding has to be carried out.

Selection of bait

Crayfish are omnivorous, in addition to larvae and small young shrimp only feed on zooplankton, other individuals also eat plant and animal bait, such as aquatic plants, terrestrial grass, fruits, artificial compound feed, snails, clams, small miscellaneous fish, shrimp, earthworms, fly maggots, carcasses of various animals, leftovers from meat processing plants, and so on.

In crayfish culture and production, animal and plant baits should be fed reasonably in order to meet the needs of crayfish growth. At the same time, it can save feed and reduce cost.

The choice of location

The habit of fixed-point feeding should be formed to facilitate the feeding of crayfish. When feeding crayfish, a table can be set up on the shore of the pond. Generally, the Reed mat or plastic woven bag can be fixed under the water surface, and the bait can be put into it for shrimp to eat. Can also not set up a table, but put the bait on the shore water grass or the surface of the water, let the shrimp climb up the shore to feed.

The choice of method

The number and quantity of artificial feeding depends on the actual situation. Generally, crayfish of 1-3 cm size can be fed 2-3 times a day and sprinkled along the edge because of their small size. When feeding, the feeding focus of plant bait can also be determined according to the growth of grasses and grains. If the growth of grass is exuberant in summer and the yield is high, it can be cast more appropriately; if the grass is reduced in spring and autumn, the fruit bait can be thrown more.
