How do hermit crabs symbiosis with sea anemones? Many times we can see hermit crabs running around with a sea anemone, and many people are curious about the relationship between sea anemones and hermit crabs. In fact, the relationship between sea anemones and hermit crabs can be regarded as a symbiotic relationship. The so-called symbiosis means that two creatures live together, which is beneficial to one side, harmless to the other, or beneficial to both parties. Both can live independently after they are separated.

The relationship between sea anemones and hermit crabs is shown in their mutual assistance. In order to protect itself, the hermit crab will drill into the empty shell of the mollusk, expose its toenail and a pair of large claws, and stretch out the first two pairs of slender steps to crawl. The sea anemone is the "doorman" they find for themselves. when it finds a suitable kind of sea anemone, it is carefully removed from the attachment with its claws and placed at the entrance of the spiral shell to guard the door for itself.

Sea anemones use poisonous tentacles to sting all animals that dare to approach them to protect hermit crabs. Hermit crabs, on the other hand, carry sea anemones with difficulty in movement, foraging in all directions and sharing blessings. Unable to swim, the sea anemone uses its allies as a means of transportation, and this form of symbiosis is called sports symbiosis. This relationship between sea anemones and hermit crabs gives them more opportunities to prey on hermit crabs while avoiding being buried by fine sand, biological debris and their own feces.

The relationship between the sea anemone and the hermit crab lasts a lifetime. When the hermit crab wants to move to a new home, it will also move to a new home with its friends and live together again. In this way, they will live together until they die. For example, there are raw sea anemones on the large claws of Ehrlich hermit crabs, and some hermit crabs live in sponges or coelenterates, because these two kinds of animals can continue to grow, so hermit crabs do not have to change their new homes often.
