Hairy crabs live in seclusion or burrowing during the day and come out to look for food at night. Like the water body with clear water quality, sufficient dissolved oxygen and abundant water plants; hate fertile water, sewage, fear of hypoxia, and avoid bad water quality very obviously. Like weak light, afraid of strong light, like quiet, afraid of alarm. When the water temperature was more than 10 ℃, it began to feed, molted and grew at about 15 ℃, and reached its peak at 20-28 ℃. High water temperature can inhibit the feeding, growth and molting of river crab.

Adult crab culture ponds should strive to meet the above requirements of the living habits of river crabs, so that hairy crabs live in an environment similar to natural conditions. The adult crab culture pond requires the following conditions:

1. The traffic is convenient, the environment is quiet, and the wind is facing the sun.

2. Abundant water source, good water quality and convenient drainage and irrigation.

3. The area is generally 5 mu and 10 mu. The area is too small, the water quality is not easy to be stable, and the management is inconvenient.

4. The depth of the pool is 1.5 meters, and the depth of water is 1 to 1.2 meters.

The slope of the pond is 1:3. It can greatly reduce the number of river crabs living in caves.

6. The shape of the pond is rectangular from east to west, narrow from north to south, with an aspect ratio of 5:3.

7. The ridge of the soil pool is wide, and the soil quality is tight, and the loam is better. The pond does not leak and the silt at the bottom does not exceed 5 cm.
