Smart City TOP2 Hsinchu Mayor Xu Mingcai Credit Citizen Card

(Taiwan Business Daily News) Hsinchu Mayor Xu Mingcai said that Hsinchu City was shortlisted for the 2014 International Smart City Forum (ICF) TOP 7 Smart City. The "Hsinchu people's Card", which Xiao Bing has made great achievements, is one of the achievements that other participating cities most envy and hope to share.

At a press conference yesterday (October), Hsinchu Mayor Xu Mingcai thanked all members of the public for their cooperation in enabling Hsinchu to make use of technology to make life more convenient, wiser and healthier.

Hsinchu Mayor Xu Mingcai personally went to New York on June 3 to attend the 2014 International Smart City leaders Forum (ICF) award ceremony, as well as the ICF annual meeting and economic cooperation exchange meeting to share the experience of smart city construction with representatives from other smart cities around the world.

Hsinchu Mayor Xu Mingcai was also invited to act as a speaker at the The Master Class Forum (Urban Challenge and commitment) to share Hsinchu's experience and discuss with representatives of other cities and enterprises. Brendo, Mayor of Waterloo, Canada, highly appreciates Mayor Xu's promotion of citizen card application, and hopes that the two cities will have opportunities for exchanges and cooperation in the future.

Xu Mingcai, mayor of Hsinchu, said that Hsinchu stood out among more than 400 international cities to enter the TOP21 or even TOP7. This year, Toronto, Canada, won the TOP1, and Hsinchu was listed as the TOP2 of the other five cities. To win international recognition, I would like to thank all members of the public for their cooperation, especially the support of experts and scholars from Bamboo, ITRI and six universities. The main reasons for Hsinchu's entry into the TOP 7 Smart City Award include the creation of a high-speed wireless Internet environment (i-Hsinchu), low-carbon green energy measures, the first low-carbon green energy model in the country, wireless broadband combined with citizen card innovative services, the construction of a network smart city, the construction of an electronic wisdom castle, high-quality happy life, Hsinchu bus dynamic APP (ibus- Hsinchu City), KIOSK baby machine (public health service station), Campus e-─ 100% I pad e-schoolbags and e-readers, small business innovation and R & D programs, glass industry and cultural creativity bonus, etc.
