Coarse fodder

Roughage accounts for 60% of bamboo rat diet and 70% of bamboo rat diet. Bamboo rat is a herbivore with high digestibility of crude fiber. The green fodder suitable for feeding bamboo rats are mango stalk, elephant straw, emperor bamboo stalk, thatch root, bamboo stalk, bamboo root, watermelon peel, corn stalk, corn bud, corncob, sugarcane head, sugarcane stalk, sugarcane tail, carrot, duck foot wood, mango branch, banyan branch, salmon willow and so on.

Concentrate feed

Accounts for 30% of the diet, 40% of the diet. The fine feeds suitable for feeding bamboo rats are horseshoe (water chestnut), sweet potato, potato, sweet potato, corn, grain, peanut, mung bean, soybean, rice and so on.

Compound feed

Corn meal 80%, wheat bran 8%, peanut bran 7%, fish meal 3%, bone meal 2%, and salt and animal auxin are added according to 0.5% of the total feed (for example, good ratio). Mix all the above raw materials and adjust the humidity with cold boiled water (the humidity can be pinched into a ball by hand, and it is appropriate to let go). It is better to feed now; of course, it is more convenient to make feed particles with a feed granulator, but the storage period is not too long.

Drug feed

It is difficult to administer drugs to bamboo rats. Some of the wild roughages naturally eaten by bamboo rats are Chinese herbal medicine and have the functions of disease prevention and treatment.

1. Thatch root (white thatch root), which has the effect of cooling and relieving summer heat, and can be used as health feed in high temperature period in summer.

2, wild pepper (mountain pepper), with stomach, digestion, regulating qi, insecticidal effect.

3. Chinese wolfberry has the effect of clearing away heat and cooling blood. When the bamboo rat has a fever and eye droppings, take its rhizome and feed it, which is one of the most common drug feeds for the majority of farmers.

4. Duck foot wood, suitable for cold and fever, sore throat, falling, stasis and swelling. Often feed duck foot wood rhizome, can prevent and cure influenza and cure internal and external trauma. This is one of the most common classic drug feeds available to farmers.

5. Honeysuckle (honeysuckle), which has the effect of clearing away heat and detoxification, can prevent heatstroke, cold and intestinal infection by feeding its rhizome to bamboo rats in summer, which is one of the most common medicine and feed for most farmers.

6. Mung beans, cooked and fed by Congee with Mung Bean Congee, can relieve heat in summer.

7. Fine-leaf banyan (banyan tree) has the effect of clearing away heat and reducing inflammation. Feeding its rhizome to bamboo rats can prevent and cure colds and conjunctivitis.
