Rat gastroenteritis is also one of the common diseases of bamboo mice, which is mainly caused by unclean feed and mildew deterioration.

The sick mouse is depressed in spirit. Dieting or not eating, thin dung around the anus, moaning in the nest at night, wasting away day by day, and eventually dehydrated to death.

Treatment of gastroenteritis in bamboo mice

After stopping eating 1-2 meals, take 1 tablet (0.5 g) of oxytetracycline (0.5 g) after 1-2 meals, or intramuscular injection of 0.4-0.5 ml of oxytetracycline injection once a day for 3 days. In severe cases, chloramphenicol can be injected into the inner thigh muscle, 0.5-0.6 ml each time, once a day for 2 consecutive days.

Matters needing attention in gastroenteritis of bamboo rat

The disease is more difficult to treat in the middle and later stage, so we should pay attention to regular and careful observation in the process of feeding. In the early stage, one or two days of wood-burning ash mixed with concentrate can be used to feed.
