Chen Yongfa was sworn in as a member of Chiayi County Councilor
(Taiwan Business Daily News) Yu Cheng-da, former speaker of Chiayi County, was sentenced to 10 years and four months in prison for the crime of embezzlement. He was disqualified as speaker and member of parliament. The post of member was replaced by Chen Yongfa of Liujiao Township. On the morning of the 11th, the Chiayi County Council held a swearing-in ceremony for Chen Yongfa, presided over by acting Speaker Zhang Mingda, supervised by Feng Baolang, president of the Chiayi District Court, and several members of the county council and Huang Yaoren, chairman of the party headquarters of the KMT Chiayi County, led a number of party workers to congratulate them.
Before learning that the replacement took office, Mr Chan Wing-fa expressed a feeling of sorrow and joy, and stressed that he would seize a short period of half a year and redouble his efforts to serve the voters, and that he must make the villagers feel that they would not live up to the love of God.
