If it is necessary to sell, purchase or utilize first-class state protected wildlife or its products due to special circumstances such as scientific research, domestication and breeding, exhibition, etc., it must be approved by the department of wildlife administration under the State Council or its authorized unit. If it is necessary to sell, purchase or use wildlife under second-level state protection or its products, it must be approved by the department of wildlife administration of the government of the province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government or the unit authorized by it.

Is it illegal to kill owls?

Hunting and killing owls is against the law and even a crime. Article 31 of the Wildlife Protection Law, whoever illegally catches and kills wildlife under special state protection shall be investigated for criminal responsibility in accordance with the supplementary provisions on punishing the crime of hunting and killing precious and endangered wildlife under special state protection. Article 341 of the Criminal Law, whoever illegally hunts or kills precious or endangered wild animals under special state protection or illegally buys, transports or sells precious or endangered wild animals and their products under special state protection shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than five years or criminal detention and concurrently be sentenced to a fine. If the circumstances are serious, the offender shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than five years and not more than ten years. If the circumstances are especially serious, the offender shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than ten years and be sentenced to a fine or confiscation of property.

What kind of food do owls eat?

Owls mainly feed on farmland rodents such as Apodemus agrarius, Apodemus agrarius, hamsters and brown voles, and rodents in residential areas such as mice and Rattus norvegicus, as well as some small birds, mammals and insects, such as finches, warblers, bats, beetles, beetles, locusts, mole crickets and so on.
