There is no difference between Sakyamuni and Annona. Annona is actually the scientific name of Sakyamuni. The size of the fruit is similar to that of pomegranate. Because its appearance is raised by molluscum with polygonal little fingers, it depends on cones, Buddha's head and Sakya's fruit. Annona is a perennial semi-deciduous small tree, which is listed as one of the famous tropical fruits because of its unique fragrance. It is planted as a cash crop, and the flesh is white and sweet.
The fruit of Sakyamuni is 3 to 5 meters high, with thin, gray and branched bark. Leaves as thin as paper, arranged in two rows, elliptic-lanceolate, or oblong. Flowers solitary or 2-4 gathered at the top of branches or opposite leaves, ca. 2 cm, bluish yellow, pendulous. Aggregate berries globose or cordate conical, glabrous, yellowish green, white frosted on the outside, consisting of mostly round or oval mature carpels that are easily separated. The flowering period is from May to June and the fruiting period is from June to November.
Sakyamuni fruit is native to tropical America and is cultivated in Hainan, Fujian, Taiwan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan. Like light, like warm and humid climate, the average annual temperature is above 22 ℃. It is not resistant to cold. Young trees suffer from cold injury at 4 ℃, and 4 ~ 5-year-old trees suffer from cold injury at-2 ℃. The tree is drought-tolerant, avoids stagnant water, and has strong adaptability to soil, but the sandy soil with good drainage can grow rapidly, have large fruit and good quality.
