(Taiwan Business Daily News) the 2014 edition of the Japanese cherry blossom season coin set is on the market!

Since June 10, 2014, the Bank of Taiwan has been selling the 2014 edition of Japanese cherry blossom season precision casting coins and flat casting coins at the Taiwan Bank's website "Gold Business-Coin set order", business department, branches and museum.

The Bank of Taiwan pointed out that the theme flower of the 2014 edition of the Japanese cherry blossom season is "Matsuzuki Sakura". The cherry blossom, which was cultivated from the seeds of an unnamed octagonal cherry tree in the garden of Machiyama in Matsuzachi, Hokkaido in 1959, has between 40 and 45 petals per flower, and the color of the cherry blossoms will change from crimson to light pink during flowering.

According to the Bank of Taiwan, this set of coins contains 1 round sterling silver themed medallion (non-coin, 925% silver color) and 6 Japanese legal compensation coins of precision casting grade (Proof Condition). The commemorative medallion and each coin features: (1) sterling silver cherry blossom commemorative medallion: this piece weighs about 20 grams, has a diameter of 35mm, and contains 925% silver color. The front shows the name and color pattern of the 2014 theme flower "Matsuqian Qin Mi Sakura", while the back is engraved with a pattern of a woman playing the piano. (2) 500 yen: nickel brass (nickel-brass) precision cast coins with "paulownia" as the pattern. (3) 100 yen: copper-nickel alloy (cupronickel) precision cast coins with "cherry blossoms" as the pattern. (4) 50 yen: copper-nickel alloy (cupronickel) precision cast coins with "chrysanthemum" as the pattern.

(5) 10-day yen: precision cast coins made of bronze (bronze), with the pattern of "Phoenix Hall of the Equal Court". (6) 5 yen: precision cast coins made of brass (brass) with the pattern of "rice ear, gear, water". (7) 1 yen: precision cast coins made of aluminum (aluminum), with "young wood" as the pattern.

The Bank of Taiwan pointed out that the outer package of this set of currency is a paper cover, and the front of the paper cover depicts the theme of Hua Song Qianqin Ying Sakura. The leather display box on the back of the paper cover and the inner package depicts a woman playing the piano. The front of the plastic display box is painted with Matsuzuki Sakura, and the back is a piano pattern.
