(Taiwan Business Daily News) the problem of genitourinary health is one of the important factors affecting human health and longevity. On June 8, the Hong Junpei Culture and Education Foundation invited Professor Zhang Huilang, Vice President of the Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Linkou, to give a lecture on "urinary Health and Happy Life." Professor Zhang shared his experience and background with years of medical and teaching research, and the public benefited a lot.

Basically, the urinary tract is not a serious disease, but it is a rather annoying problem. Many people just feel uncomfortable at first, but they are embarrassed to see a doctor. They often miss the time to see a doctor, which makes the symptoms more serious. Because urinary tract infection can cause or affect the following problems, including: urethritis, cystitis, kidney disease, urinary calculi, proctoritis.

Zhang Huilang, vice president of Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, delivered a public speech: drink more water without holding back urine and reduce urinary tract infection.

Urinary tract infection is not a big problem, but when the infection is serious, it is easy to cause related pathological changes on the kidney; especially for symptoms such as urinary calculi and dysuria, the rate of recurrence is quite high, and it is more likely to develop into chronic diseases, so daily urinary system health care is very important.

The genitourinary system structure of men and women is different, the causes of urinary diseases are also different. Urinary tract infections are usually less troubling for men than women. In addition to drinking too little water and holding back urine for a long time, the most common problem of prostate hypertrophy in men will also affect the health of the urinary tract. Prostatic hypertrophy, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia or prostatic adenoma, is a common disease of dysuria caused by middle-aged and elderly men, which is related to endocrine disorders and sex hormone disorders; symptoms include slow thinning of urine flow, difficulty in urination, interruption of urine flow, frequent urination, hematuria, urgent urination, and even acute urine retention.

Prostatic hypertrophy is the proliferation of glandular cells, such as common benign tumors, which may be caused by hormonal imbalances. In particular, 70% of men over the age of 65 have this disease, and benign prostate hypertrophy can be said to be a longevity disease for men.

Typical symptoms of urinary tract infection caused by prostate hypertrophy include bladder pain, frequent urination, nocturnal urination, fine and slow urination, difficulty in urination, and even inability to urinate. If you have these symptoms, you should see a doctor as soon as possible. In particular, men with diabetes are more likely to have enlarged prostate glands, mainly because diabetic patients are prone to microvascular sclerosis, gradual endocrine effects, and chronic inflammation of the prostate.

In order to maintain the health of the urinary system, in addition to having a correct concept of health care, 50-year-old men should undergo regular physical examinations to understand their urinary and reproductive systems, so as to prevent possible diseases as soon as possible. If there is diabetes, hypertension and other chronic diseases, or with urinary calculi, we should also pay attention to the health care of the urinary system, and regular follow-up treatment, so as not to cause other kidney diseases.

Doctors advise that when suffering from prostate-related diseases, the diet should be as light as possible, avoid high-cholesterol foods, eat more vegetables and fruits, and keep the intestines and stomach smooth. Proper warm water bath can slow down the congestion of prostate gland.

About 25% of women will be infected with cystitis at least once in their lifetime, and many will even be infected multiple times. Because the female urethral orifice is only about 3 cm from the bladder (the male urethral orifice is about 18-20 cm from the bladder), and the female urethral orifice is also quite close to the vaginal orifice. Because of this different physiological structure, it is easier for women than men to bring bacteria into the urethra, and then into the bladder, the probability of infection is also relatively increased.

In addition to drinking too little water, urination and poor hygiene habits, special activities (such as sexual behavior) or periods (such as pregnancy and menopause) can also affect the urinary health of female friends.

80% of women suffer from aging of the reproductive and urinary systems after menopause. Due to the decrease of female hormone secretion in menopausal women, the urinary tract and vaginal mucosa are dry and fragile, and bacteria are easy to grow. in addition, the decrease of local resistance will also increase the probability of vaginal and urinary infection.

Menopausal women often have "stress urinary incontinence": such as leakage of urine when coughing or sneezing, which is not caused by urinary tract infection, but if combined with infection, it will make women and friends very uncomfortable and affect their daily life. Therefore, it is still necessary to pay special attention to the maintenance of the daily urinary tract system: drink more water, cannot bear urine, do not hold water, and develop correct hygiene habits. If you feel sick, you need to see a urologist as soon as possible. Patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, or patients with urinary calculi should pay more attention to the health care of the urinary system and follow up treatment regularly so as not to cause other kidney diseases.

Frequent urination, frequent urination, nocturnal urination; urination pain, burning sensation; turbid urine; back, waist or abdominal pain; blood in urine, etc., are signs of urinary tract infection. If you find these symptoms, please see a doctor as soon as possible. If you have chills, fever, dizziness, vomiting and other symptoms, it means that the kidney may have been infected and must be treated immediately. The two most common reasons affecting urinary tract health are: drinking too little water: water can increase the frequency of urination, reduce the time for bacteria to stay in the bladder or urethra, and reduce the probability of infection. Holding back urine: modern people often endure urination or hold back urine for a long time because they are busy at work or are not used to using outside sanitary equipment, thus increasing the chance of urinary tract infection.

Doctors say that under normal circumstances, the daily urine output is between 1000~1500CC. If the daily urine output is more than 2500~3000CC, it is polyuria. The frequency of urination in a normal person is about 4: 6 in the day and 0 in the night. If the number of urination in a normal person is more than 10 times a day, it is called frequent urination. The occurrence of polyuria or frequent urination is related to the amount of water an individual drinks and whether there are urinary tract-related diseases. Therefore, if you do not drink too much water, but want to go to the toilet all day long, but each time the urine volume is very small, the urinary tract may be infected.

What if repeated infections often occur in the urinary system? doctors say that cranberry juice contains a unique concentrated tannin, which is rare in fruit, which can prevent bacteria from attaching to the urinary tract wall, reduce the probability of infection and reduce discomfort. Therefore, drinking cranberry juice can strengthen the resistance of the urinary system.
