Termites are insects of the class Insecta, and there are many species. It is known that there are more than 480 species of termites belonging to 47 genera and four families in China. The damage caused by the damage is very astonishing. The living environment is mainly related to temperature, humidity, air, light and soil. Let's take a look!

Temperature

Termites are temperature-loving insects, and temperature is the main factor affecting the distribution of termites, so termites are distributed on both sides of the equator. the closer to the equator, the more species of termites, the greater the density, and the more complex the way of life.

Humidity

Termites need a special water supply to maintain the water and humidity needs of the colony. The water content of the insect body is about 79%, and the average water content of the nest is 33%. There is a special water absorption line to the source (water absorption ant road). To ensure the water demand of themselves and the nest through the water absorption line, the black-winged termites living on the dam must have an ant road to the water source in order to obtain the water needed by their nest colony. The place close to the water source on the dam is the reservoir water facing the water slope, the seepage line and the free water of the filter body in the dam, so the termites will build ant roads to collect water from these places with rich water sources.

Air

Termites are colony creatures living in a semi-closed nest system, which is self-contained in a dark nest system. Some people jokingly call it a "resident in the dark". This nest system has to connect with the outside world. and through a variety of ways to obtain oxygen in the air, and the group respiration produced carbon dioxide out of the nest, the nest system is characterized by high carbon dioxide content. Tens to hundreds of times higher than the amount of carbon dioxide in the air.

Light

Termites live hidden in the camp nest for a long time, and most individuals are afraid of photos. however, the diffusion and development of the population is inseparable from the light environment. Winged adults have phototaxis when they fly away from the colony. All winged adults know well-developed monocular and compound eyes, and like many other insects, they have a strong positive response to light-phototaxis, winged adults fly away from the old population and establish a new population. Light is an indispensable and important condition.

Soil

Except that there is no direct relationship between woody termites and soil, soil-dwelling termites and soil-dwelling termites have a very close relationship with soil, especially soil-dwelling termites, which cannot survive without soil. Soil-dwelling termites have a strict choice of soil and are the main components of the ant nest and ant path of soil-dwelling termites.
