Chenxiang is a treasure with high economic value. It has been a luxury in history, and now it has increasingly become the target of collectors' attention. Because of this, driven by interests, there are more and more fakes of Chenxiang at present, and it is becoming more and more important to learn how to identify fakes. Let's take a look at Chenxiang's real and fake identification methods.

Identification method of Chenxiang

1. Look: that is, if the material is on the hand, we should first see whether its lines (that is, oil lines) are clear and the color is the same, because natural things can not be without defects, and often artificial things will have the same color, but the look is more perfect.

2. Touch: rub the surface of Chenxiang with your hands. If the surface of Chenxiang is really greasy and cold, fake Chenxiang is not available. The oil content is proportional to the actual weight. The higher the oil content, the heavier the weight, and the less the oil, the lighter the weight.

3. Smell: natural incense is the most authentic and pure fragrance given by nature, and the fragrance varies from place to place. The flavor of pure natural incense cannot be replicated by modern high technology. Most of the fake incense is processed by pressing, pressing, pouring and steaming with incense juice or chemical flavor, so smelling it is never the only fragrance. The natural incense smells its smell with the nose, the more it smells, the more it wants to smell, while the fake incense is the opposite.

4. Burning: if it is impossible to tell the true from the false after the above three steps, then we use the method of burning the open fire directly to smell it, or use an electric incense stove to take a small piece of it directly, then the true and false will suddenly realize that the true incense is mellow and mellow, and the fake incense often has a chemical flavor or a relatively turbid non-sinking flavor.

Preservation method of Chenxiang

1. Ambient temperature: usually 18-21 °C is considered to be the ideal preservation temperature of incense. The temperature should not be too high, if it is higher than 39 °C, it will lead to the volatilization of incense oil and reduce its life.

2. Storage time: there is no time limit for preserving Chenxiang. The older it is, the better it will be. After Chenxiang has been preserved for many years, it can still keep its aroma unchanged.

3. Storage place: the place where incense is stored should be in a cool place to prevent direct sunlight. If it is moist indoors, you can wrap the incense with plastic wrap. For the mixture of drug resistance and aroma, each variety of fragrance had better be stored separately. Line incense, pan incense fragrance had better be placed flat in a wooden box, which can prevent moisture, dryness and damage, avoid deformation and bending, and is also conducive to the further harmony and long-term storage of fragrant medicine.

4, maintenance methods: should avoid with the water of washing products, such as soap, toilet soap, shampoo, washing powder water and so on. After mixing with these chemicals, the incense oil distributed on the surface of the incense will have a chemical reaction and will be washed off, which will dilute the fragrance. Chenxiang bracelet will also form a natural paste when it is worn, and the taste will be lighter, so it doesn't matter. Put it under the pillow or encapsulate it in a sealed plastic bag when you sleep at night, and then take it out with the same fragrance.

The difference between the types of incense

1. Inverted shelf: the definition of inverted shelf in the market is that the inverted incense is called inverted incense after a certain degree of fermentation decay, most of the unoiled xylem rot leaves a small number of oil-deposited incense. To put it simply, the trees that can form incense due to age and related natural factors, after falling down, after decades of wind and rain, the rest of the non-rotting parts form incense, that is, falling shelf. Inverted shelf is one of the best kinds of incense, its taste is very characteristic, very wonderful, smell mellow and sweet from a distance, a bit like the taste of Qinan, but recently feel that although it is thick and slightly bitter, there is also a way of recognizing the master. It is said that after recognizing the host, strangers can not smell the smell, and those who are predestined to smell it will be amazed that there are generally 3-5 changes in the taste, which is very wonderful. Generally, the color of the inverted shelf is uniformly distributed light black and slightly yellowish, not red.

2. Water sinking: according to the consistent view of the industry, water sinking is the best incense besides Qinan and falling shelves, and it is also the one with the highest frequency in the market. There are two theories about the definition of water sinking. one is that, according to Taiwanese practitioners, spices are buried in a swamp, biodecomposed and then picked up from the swamp area. Another saying is that Chenxiang contains enough oil, the specific gravity is greater than water, can sink into the water, it is called water sinking. Water sinking mainly has the following characteristics: generally, most of the width does not exceed 10cm, and the length generally does not exceed 50cm; good water sinking is generally very dense, even as hard as stone, and the surface is not very smooth; its colors are mainly green, dark green, yellow, brown or black, the grease part is dark, the wood part is light yellow and white, and a variety of colors are mixed into a variety of textures. Water sedimentation with high oil content is generally dark in color, moist in texture, easy to ignite, and boiling oil can be seen when burning.

3. Soil sinking: the incense formation process of soil sinking is similar to that of water sinking, except that it is buried in the soil. The dividing line between soil sinking and water sinking is not very obvious, and forced separation is only the difference in efficacy and taste. For example, soil sinking evolved from dry soil, belongs to yang, sexual heat dryness, has the effect of moderate temperature and lowering qi, while water sinking is soaked in moisture all the year round, belonging to yin, mild sex, and has the wonderful effect of warming the kidney. The taste of earthy water is more mellow than that of water sinking. At present, there are a lot of soil sinking pretending to be sinking in the market, but sometimes it is not necessarily worse than that. With the same piece of incense, it is not surprising that the upper part is sinking soil, and the lower part is sinking water.

4. Ant sinking: as the name implies, ant sinking means that when the incense tree is alive, it is artificially cut down and eaten by termites after falling to the ground. Another theory is that most of the sinking is not caused by termites, but that the incense trees bitten by insects are artificially cut down and still have the vitality to secrete resin to heal the wound. these resins combine with insect secretions to form incense caused by fungal infection.

5. Living and sinking: when the incense tree is still a living plant, it is obtained by artificial incense mining. The tree does not die naturally, but is still alive and alive. Such incense is called lively. To put it simply, the incense directly obtained from the felling of living trees is lively. Living and sinking due to insufficient alcoholization time, less oil content, some will have a hint of log smell during fumigation.

6. White wood: the tree is less than ten years old and has a little fragrance. There is also a saying that the incense trees that have not yet borne fragrance are collectively referred to as white wood. The value of white wood is relatively low, so I won't repeat it here.

7. Chinan: "Chinan" is a word translated from Sanskrit. The Buddhist sutras of the Tang Dynasty are often written as "Dogara", and later there are such names as "Jialan", "Jiannan", "Chinan" and so on. The most precious incense is called Chinan incense, in terms of gold and silver jewelry, led by diamonds, and Chinan is the diamond in spices. According to the precious program from big to small, it can be divided into: Bai Qinan, Yingge green knot (commonly known as green chess), orchid knot (commonly known as purple chess or honey chess), gold knot (commonly known as yellow chess), sugar knot, iron knot (commonly known as black chess).
