It has a certain Yang-strengthening effect, but it is a cool food that women had better not eat, especially pregnant women. It can also stop bleeding and relieve pain, clearing away heat and detoxification. You can eat more, especially in summer.

However, because toads are poisonous, they should not be eaten at will. In clinic, although toad poisoning causes death is rare, attention should be paid to it. The latent period of clinical manifestations of toad poisoning is 0.5 to 1 hour. the main symptoms are dizziness, sweating, numbness of lips and limbs, nausea and vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, shock, chest tightness, palpitation and so on, which may lead to respiratory and circulatory failure. If toad venom enters the eyes by mistake, it can also cause redness, swelling and even blindness.

If there is discomfort caused by toad poisoning, drink strong tea or warm water immediately, and then induce vomiting. After the eyes and skin are poisoned, rinse with lukewarm water or purple grass juice. If it causes shock, lie flat immediately, pay attention to heat preservation, and carry out artificial respiration as soon as possible. After emergency treatment, it should be rushed to the hospital for treatment immediately.

Toads are juxtaposed with scorpions, venomous snakes, centipedes and spiders as "five poisons". Its toxicity lies in the toxic white serous secreted by the retroauricular glands and skin glands, called toad venom. Incidents of poisoning by eating toads

In June 2013, Mr. Hu, who lives in Luxian County, Luzhou, bought some toads (commonly known as toads) for 29 yuan, some of them in bags, some of them washed and fried to eat. Less than 3 hours after the meal, Mr. Hu developed dizziness, nausea, chest tightness and other symptoms and was sent to the hospital for emergency treatment. An hour later, Mr. Hu died.

In January 2014, four children in Lanxiu Village, Mutang Town, Danzhou City, accidentally ate toads while playing, resulting in toad poisoning, vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhea, and were then sent to hospital for emergency treatment. One child died and the other three children were basically out of danger after rescue.
