2015 New York Taiwan Design Outstanding Fashion Show

Apart from the mission of promoting academic and educational exchanges, the education teams stationed by the Ministry of Education overseas are also actively doing their best to serve Chinese students. Recently, the Education Section of the New York Office has conducted a number of presentation meetings, joint exhibitions and other activities to set up a stage for international students to show Taiwan to the world. In conjunction with New York Fashion week (Fashion Week), the Education Section of the New York Office invited 28 Taiwanese students studying fashion-related fields from Greater New York and other regions to hold a groundbreaking "2015 New York and Taiwan Design Outstanding Fashion Exhibition" (2015 Taiwanese Students/ Young Talents Fashion Show/ Exhibition) at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York.

The opening reception of "2015 New York Taiwan Design Outstanding Fashion Show" in time attracted more than 200 people from designers, fashion and overseas Chinese in Greater New York to watch, and the guests competed to see the works of cutting-edge designers. 26 models from various countries displayed 68 sets of popular creations of 12 Taiwan student designers and 68 sets of fashion creations of each style, plus 11 mysterious guests' fashion shows. Let the offices of foreign offices, which have always been serious and dignified, become a fashion runway in New York overnight, becoming the focus of the popular spotlight.

"2015 New York and Taiwan Design Outstanding Fashion Show" includes dynamic fashion design shows and static works exhibitions. The 12 designers in fashion design catwalks include Taiwanese students from New York's FIT School of Pop Design (Fashion Institute of Technology), Pratt School of Art (Pratt Institute), San Francisco University of Art (Academy of Art University), New York Parsons School of Art (Parsons The New School for Design) and University of California, Davis (UC Davis). Static exhibitors include FIT School of Pop Design, Parson School of Art, Pratt School of Art and young designers.

At the opening reception of the 2015 New York Taiwan Design Fashion Show, Zhang Wenliang, ambassador to the New York office, praised the performance of Taiwan's newcomers. American designer Malan Breton was also very positive about Taiwan's newcomers. He said in his speech: "it is hard to imagine that these wonderful designs are made by students. They are unique, creative and full of potential for development." This kind of fashion shows are of great help to them and should be held regularly.

Ana Bianchi, president of Paper Doll Design Company (Paper Girl Collection), also expressed great appreciation for the work of young Taiwanese designers. Seeing the audience filled with applause, Peng Anjie, the convener of the catwalk group and now a student at the FIT School of Fashion Design in New York, excitedly thanked the resident for providing them with such a great stage. In order to support Taiwan students, celebrities from all walks of life in Greater New York also participated in fashion catwalk activities, each with clever clothing ideas to present spring theme images, making the scene lively and colorful.

The education team in New York plans to organize the "2015 New York Taiwan Design Outstanding Fashion Exhibition" to enable Taiwan students and young designers in the field of fashion design to show Taiwan's creativity and ingenuity in fashion design to New York, which is the leading "global fashion capital", and to let the fashion world in New York see Taiwan's cutting-edge talent and brilliance.
