Summer is a season when it is more difficult for succulent plants to take root, so what can be done to improve the rooting speed when they encounter rootless and succulent plants in summer?

First, the method of taking root in river sand:

To choose a finer river sand, wash out the mud from the river sand after washing, and then dry it to the state of slight tide, and put the rootless meat directly on the river sand, so that the speed of rooting is not slow and it is not easy to black rot. Many succulent greenhouses are also planted with pure sand, the rooting effect is still OK, and the new roots are very clean, very suitable for family use. The biggest disadvantage of this method is that it is too troublesome.

2. Hydroponic rooting method:

This method is more suitable for some more difficult to take root of the old pile succulent, although it can take root, but also accompanied by the danger of black rot, more suitable for some almost hopeless meat.

1. First of all, prepare a packet of rooting agent. At present, all the rooting powders on the market are the products of potassium indolebutyrate and sodium naphthalene acetate. Generally, the ratio of sodium naphthalene acetate to potassium indolebutyrate is at 1:2 or 1:3.

2 prepare a glass bottle or plastic bottle, add about 2 to 3 water in the bottle.

3. Pour a small amount of rooting powder into the water, gently shake the water to make it uniform, too much rooting powder may also be counterproductive.

4. Put the succulent without roots at the mouth of the bottle so that the lower end of the succulent can come into contact with the surface of the water. Be sure to soak the roots of the meat in water mixed with rooting powder. If the mouth of the bottle is too large, it can be fixed with barbed wire.

5. Put the meat in a place with astigmatism and ventilation, if the speed is fast, the hydroponic succulent can take root in about 1-2 weeks, and the withered leaves gradually stretch out. When the root system grows to about 2cm, it can be taken out of the bottle and directly into the basin.

Third, pure vermiculite rooting method:

After high temperature treatment, expanded vermiculite has good air permeability, strong water absorption, small temperature change and aseptic effect, so it is very suitable for rooting of succulent plants. However, vermiculite also has a disadvantage that it is too water-conserving, and it also has the possibility of causing meat water black rot, and after taking root, it may also cause meat water black rot because vermiculite is too water-retaining. It is suggested that it is best to mix with other plant materials, only spread a thin layer of vermiculite on the surface, so that after the new roots grow, they will stick through the vermiculite on the surface to the planting soil below, which is safe and will not lack nutrients.

Fourth, air rooting method:

The air rooting method is to put the succulent plants that have not taken root in the dark and damp environment indoors. After a period of time, the succulent plants will take root. Prepare a clean glass bottle and put the succulent plant directly on the mouth of the bottle. A little water can be added to the bottom of the bottle to ensure that the air humidity in the bottle is high enough. After about 2 weeks, the succulent plant can take root, and then put the succulent plant directly into the basin.

5. Soil culture and rooting method

If you want succulent plants to take root quickly, you need to prepare a flowerpot with good water and air permeability, and then pad a piece of non-woven cloth, or ceramsite, tiles, bricks, etc., at the bottom of the flowerpot, so as to prevent succulent roots from growing outside the flowerpots. And good water permeability and air permeability, can avoid cutting succulent black rot roots. Then, put the prepared soil in a flowerpot, the cutting soil can be mixed with peat soil and perlite at 2:1, and then pour some water to keep the soil moist. After that, the dried succulent leaves are inserted into the soil, which can be placed flat, or the lower end can be slightly inserted into the soil, with a depth of about 1-2cm. Put it in a place where there is enough scattered light indoors, about 6-10 days, you can see the succulent roots of the cuttings. After taking root, transplant it directly into the flowerpot, at the same time, put it in a cool and ventilated place for a period of time, and then carry out normal maintenance.
