Grasshoppers belong to Insecta, Orthoptera, Acrididae. According to statistics, there are 223 genera and 859 species of Acridoidea. East Asian migratory locusts grow under natural temperature conditions, and there are two generations a year. The first generation is called summer locust, and the second generation is autumn locust. Now artificial farming can be converted to three generations a year. The length of female locust is 39.5 mm and that of male locust is 33.0 mm and 41.5 mm. Adults are good at jumping and flying. The East Asian migratory locust has a strong body, a wide range of feeding and strong adaptability. after hatching into young locusts, it can be an adult after 35 days, and can be sold after about 50 days, so the time is short and the return is fast. Raising 10,000 East Asian migratory locust adults can reach 20 kilograms, and the economic benefits are considerable, and the seeds are purchased only once. Since multiplication dozens of times, eggs hatch locusts, locusts lay eggs, over and over again, raising for many years, constantly selling money, a female locust can lay more than 35-90 eggs at a time. The reason why migratory locusts are favored by people is that they are soft, fresh and nutritious. According to expert analysis, its protein content is as high as 74.88%, fat content is 5.25%, carbohydrate content is 4.77%, and contains 18 kinds of amino acids and a variety of active substances.

Farmed breed

Insect breeding varieties should generally consider: growth cycle, algebra, size, taste, diet, color, dormancy and other factors. There are tens of thousands of species in the family Acridoidea. It has been proved by theory and practice that the East Asian migratory locust is one of the most excellent species of locusts and the most cultivated species at present. The advantages of East Asian migratory locust are as follows: ① is larger; ② is delicious; ③ is colorful; ④ algebra is more; ⑤ growth cycle is shorter; ⑥ is herbivorous and polyphagous.

East Asian migratory locust is the primary pest causing locust plague in China, and it is one of the three subspecies of migratory locust in China. There is only one species of migratory locust in the world. Due to different geographical distribution and differences in external morphology and the ratio of different parts, it is known that there are 10 subspecies, and there are three subspecies in China: East Asian migratory locust, Asian migratory locust and Xizang migratory locust.

The East Asian migratory locust is an incomplete metamorphosis insect, which has three insect states in its life, that is, egg-locust nymph (nymph)-adult. East Asian migratory locusts generally have four generations of 2muri in a year, the first generation (Hainan is the second generation) is conventionally called "summer locust", and the second generation (Hainan is 3Murray fourth generation) is called "autumn locust". Growth cycle: adults can be grown in about 35 days and sold in about 50 days. The female locust dies normally after laying eggs, and the male locust dies normally after mating.

Construction of locust breeding shed

1. Site selection

It is appropriate to choose a place with plenty of ventilation and sunshine.

2. Destroy natural enemies

Before building the shed, the ants and mole crickets on the ground will be wiped out by means of trapping, trapping and boiling water, because the above animals are the natural enemies of locusts and can prey on locusts and destroy locust eggs, so these animals must not be allowed to exist in the shed.

3. Ground

The ground of the shed should be 10-15 cm above the surrounding ground in order to facilitate drainage during the rainy season. The best soil quality is sandy loam, which is not easy to agglomerate and is easy to lay eggs and take eggs. The load is not too soft, and locusts have high requirements for laying eggs.

4. Density

The area of the shed depends on the number of locusts. Generally speaking, each square meter can raise 600 per square meter of 800 adults.

5. Build a shed

According to their own conditions, wooden sticks and bamboo slices can be used to build a support for the shed. Then according to the size of the scaffolding, use gauze to make a shed like a mosquito net, hang it on the scaffolding, bury the bottom in the ground, leave the door, and press the zipper on the doorway. This installation is to prevent locusts from running out and to facilitate feeding and management in the shed. The height of the shed is 1.5-2 meters. In order to keep warm or prevent rain, the shed can be covered with plastic sheeting. When the temperature is high and the locusts are bigger (more than three years old), they are not afraid of rain, but not covered with plastic sheeting. If locusts are raised under natural conditions, the construction of the shed must be completed by the end of April.

6. Corn and other taller plants should be isolated in the shed.

Development, hatching and management of locust eggs

The starting development temperature range of the migratory locust is 20 Mel 42 degrees, the suitable development temperature is 25 mi 40 degrees, and the optimum temperature is 28 mi 35 degrees. When the relative humidity is 85% Mel 92% or the soil water content is 15% Mel 18%, the suitable development temperature is 25 Mel 32 degrees, and the natural temperature in northern China will arrive in early May. After buying the eggs, put the locust eggs directly into the soil and wait for them to hatch naturally. After 10-15 days of incubation, all locusts were hatched. The food intake of grasshopper is very small and its body is weak, so it should be protected against rain.

The habits of migratory locusts

1. Hatching

The lowest temperature for hatching eggs is 17 degrees Celsius, the suitable temperature for development is between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius, the soil water content is 18 to 22 percent, and the hatching rate is the highest. the whole egg block generally takes 50-60 minutes from the beginning to the completion of hatching, and hatches the most from 08:00 to 1 p.m. It is also unearthed in the process of hatching in different order.

2. Molting

Migratory locusts grow by molting and stop eating when they need to molt when they reach a certain length. Hang the body upside down and peel off. (with attachments) can be eaten in an hour. The locusts shed their skin 5-7 days after laying eggs, strong molting blocks, weak molting slowly, and one molting is one year old. It takes five times from hatching to adult to shed its skin before it can become an adult.
