Shanrui soft-shelled turtle, also known as Shanrui, Ruiyu, soft-shelled turtle, turtle, etc., lives in mountain rivers and ponds, feeding on small aquatic animals, molluscs, crustaceans, fish and shrimp. The round shape is very similar to the Chinese soft-shelled turtle commonly known as "soft-shelled turtle", but its volume is much larger than that of ordinary Chinese soft-shelled turtles. Let's take a look at the breeding techniques of mountain soft-shelled turtles.

Temporary Culture of Juvenile soft-shelled Turtle (Trionyx sinensis)

1. Temporary culture container: after about 80 days, the young soft-shelled turtle can hatch. The newly hatched juvenile Trionyx sinensis weighs 6 to 7 grams and the yolk has not yet been absorbed, so it is not appropriate to catch it so as not to damage the juvenile turtle and let it crawl freely in the incubator. Two days later, it was moved to another wooden basin or plastic basin for temporary cultivation. The bottom of the basin was covered with sand 3cm thick and injected with water 2cm deep, so that the young soft-shelled turtle could put its head out of the water and breathe. The basin with a diameter of 40 cm can hold about 20 juvenile soft-shelled turtles.

2. Food feeding: juvenile soft-shelled turtles need not be fed within 2 days after hatching, and will be fed once a day and once in the afternoon after 2 days. The bait is red worms, chopped earthworms, fish meat, livestock liver and so on. The feeding amount is about 10% of the total weight of the soft-shelled turtle population, and can also be fed with turtle formula feed.

3. Temporary culture management: in the temporary culture stage, the soft-shelled turtle is easy to be affected by air temperature because there is little water in the basin, and the temperature difference changes greatly, so it is suitable to be reared indoors. Pay attention to heat preservation. Water should be changed once or twice a day, and the temperature difference should not exceed 5 ℃. The juvenile soft-shelled turtle can be transferred to the juvenile turtle pond after about 20 days of temporary culture.

Stocking technique of Trionyx sinensis

1, turtle pond construction: the juvenile turtle pond is generally a cement pool structure, the area does not need to be very large, 5 to 10 square meters, the pool depth is 50 to 60 centimeters, the water depth is 30 centimeters, the top of the pool needs to pull shading cloth to cool down. There is a rest table on one side of the pool, and the area is about 1 quarter of the pool. The rest table is connected with the water surface with a 25-degree slope, which is convenient for young turtles to go ashore and have a rest. The bottom of the pool is covered with sand 5 cm.

2. Stocking density: the juvenile Trionyx sinensis was transferred to the juvenile turtle pond after temporary rearing, and was soaked in 10 mg / L potassium permanganate solution for 15 minutes before entering the pond. The initial stocking density should be 40 to 50 birds per square meter. The juvenile turtle pond had better raise some water floating lotus, on the one hand, lower the water temperature, purify the water quality, and then act as an attachment.

3. Density regulation: with the growth of juvenile soft-shelled turtles, the culture density should be adjusted in time according to the growth specifications. When the growth reaches 40g / m ~ 60g, 30kg / m ~ 2 pool will be stocked. Grow to more than 100 grams, stocking 20 eggs per square meter. Usually every 2-3 months.

Feeding and management of Trionyx sinensis

1. Bait feeding: the kinds of bait are yellow powder insect, fresh livestock and poultry liver, fresh fish and so on. The bait table is made of wood and fixed on the edge of the pool for holding bait. When the water temperature was 28-30 ℃, it was fed three times a day, at 8 o'clock, 12:00 and 17:00, respectively. When the water temperature was 25-28 ℃, it was fed twice a day, at 9 o'clock and 16:00 respectively. It is appropriate to finish or leave a little bait after 1 hour of feeding.

2. Water quality regulation: water quality is regulated by changing water and sand. The source of water exchange is edible tap water, and you can also choose river water, reservoir water or well water. Change water twice a day in spring and summer and once a day in autumn and winter. Each change of water should be done after the soft-shelled turtle has eaten the bait, and the amount of water for each change should be 2 × 3 of the original pool water. The bottom sand was changed every two months, and the new sand was soaked in 50 mg / L potassium permanganate solution for 30 minutes and then put into the turtle pond.

3. Water temperature regulation: when the water temperature is lower than 25 ℃ in winter and spring, the artificial heating method is used to adjust the water temperature and cover with plastic film to keep warm. Each pond uses a 120W tank heating rod and a 60W light bulb to control the water temperature and increase the light. The water temperature is controlled between 25 ℃ and 30 ℃, most of the time between 28 and 30 ℃. When the water temperature exceeds 32 ℃ in summer, use Hongyun fan to cool down by the pool.

4, light regulation: open the plastic film when there is sufficient sunshine in winter and spring, and concentrate the soft-shelled turtle in the No. 2 pool on the balcony to bask in the back, preferably at 9: 10 a.m. for 1-2 hours each time, to increase the light time, promote the transformation and absorption of calcium and vitamin D, improve the disease resistance of soft-shelled turtle, and can also play the role of disinfection and sterilization.

Parent breeding of Trionyx sinensis

1. Selection of parent soft-shelled turtle: the strong soft-shelled turtle was selected as artificial breeding parent soft-shelled turtle to be transferred into the parent soft-shelled turtle breeding pond for breeding. The parent soft-shelled turtle breeding pond is equipped with a plastic film insulation shed with an area of 260square meters, a brick structure and an inner block. 20 cm thick yellow mud is placed at the bottom of the pond, with a water depth of 1 meter, with an eating table and a sun back table, and a 20 square meter spawning battlefield is built at one end of the pool.

2. Management of parent soft-shelled turtles: the water temperature of the breeding pond was kept at about 25 ℃ with a boiler, mainly fed with animal feed, and supplemented with full-price soft-shelled turtle feed and green feed. Strengthen water quality management and disease prevention, and release photosynthetic bacteria once a month.

3. Mating and spawning: under the condition of artificial temperature control, the parent soft-shelled turtle could mate at 22-25 ℃, and the female soft-shelled turtle began to lay eggs after 15-20 days of mating. Spawning takes place in the middle of the night. The female turtle climbs up battlefield, finds a good position, digs nests to lay eggs, and hides sand to cover up after spawning.
