International Symposium on 2015 Ilan Landscape Forum

In the past, "landscape" and "landscape construction" were often interpreted as "style beautification" or "planting greening". In fact, this oversimplifies or narrows the connotation of "landscape". Compared with the past, the concept of "landscape" has increased its richness and complexity at the same time. The new concept of landscape is integrated into sustainability and livelihood, not only focusing on environmental beautification and decoration, but also including the continuous interaction between people and the environment, not only that the landscape is a static and fixed material environment.

In the past, in order to pursue economic growth, the whole landscape of Taiwan experienced drastic expansion, development and changes. In the face of the continuous evolution of social development and changes in the natural environment, the development of urban and rural landscape in Ilan hopes to seek a dynamic management strategy, so that the landscape of Ilan can continue to evolve over time and social economy. Still can maintain a good life, good livelihood, good ecology, good culture of the aesthetic characteristics and sustainability.

The Ilan county government said that on the 3rd, the "2015 Ilan Landscape Forum" was held in the International Conference Hall on the second floor of Ilan University (Tusi Building). The purpose is to take the landscape of Dezikou River corridor as the theme, specially invited three international scholars, including British, French and Japanese professors, Professor Wang Guangyu, chief consultant of environmental landscape in Ilan County, and the national deputy director of the Construction Department. With regard to "River Management and ecosystem Services", "Landscape Conservation and Landscape Management Strategy from French experience", "Construction of Riverbank Environment", "Landscape value and Landscape Management: promoting New Ilan experience" and "practice and Challenge of Ilan Urban and Rural Landscape", with the combination of transnational and cross-disciplinary specialties, carry on environmental values communication and landscape reading, problem diagnosis, topic discussion, etc. And seek the operation mode and tool of compound landscape management, as a reference for landscape planning, management and policy of Dezikou river corridor in the future, and take advantage of this process to expand international exchanges.
