When will the strawberries ripen?

Strawberries are widely cultivated all over the world, with more than 2000 varieties. Love light, like moisture, afraid of water stains, not resistant to drought, like fertile and breathable sandy loam. When the temperature rises above 5 degrees in spring, the plants begin to germinate, and the optimum growth temperature is 20-26 degrees. But strawberries are usually on the market from February to March. How do strawberries ripen?

1, irregular ripening: informal ripening of strawberries refers to the use of ethylene ripening agent to accelerate the ripening of strawberries, those with hollow, large and irregular strawberries are generally caused by excessive ripening agents.

2. Normal ripening: strawberry is the "example" of anti-season fruit that first adopted new technology and achieved great success, and the new technology of "protected cultivation" is adopted for off-season growth. in the cold winter and spring seasons, the use of wind barriers, sunbeds, hotbeds, plastic greenhouses and other cold insulation facilities to achieve early maturity, high yield and prolong the supply period, so that the nutritional content of strawberries produced is not lower than that of strawberries cultivated in the open air.

Common cultivated varieties of strawberry

1. Gui Nu Gan Strawberry: Gui Nu Gan Strawberry is light red, gorgeous, fragrant and extremely sweet, with a sugar content as high as 12-18% (7-12% for general strawberries). The fruits harvested from December to February can bear fruit for 6 months and can be stored naturally for 7-10 days, and the fruits harvested after March can be stored for 4-7 days.

2. Fengxiang strawberry: the fruit type of Fengxiang strawberry is short conical, bright red, full of luster, light red pulp, hard pulp and tough pericarp, resistant to storage and transportation, moderate sweet and sour flavor, containing 813% soluble solids. Juicy and succulent, full of aroma and excellent quality, it is suitable for open field cultivation in the south. When the cultivation is promoted in the greenhouse, the fruit can be picked and listed in the middle and last ten days of November.

3. Giant Star 1 Strawberry: giant Star 1 strawberry fruit is very large, very resistant to storage and transportation, and the yield is very high. The fruit is conical, bright red, uniform and bright in appearance, rich in fragrance, mellow and sweet, good pulp hardness, strong pericarp toughness, can be stored at room temperature for 45 days without discoloration, no deterioration, the average weight of a single fruit is 50g, the maximum is 120g, which is bigger than an egg. It is known as the king of strawberries today. The open-field cultivation matured in late April, and the solar greenhouse contributed to the maturity of all the fruits in March.

4. Guardian strawberries: Guardian strawberries are suitable for growing in the south, with large fruit, short conical, neat, wide shoulder, round apex, bright red (carmine pigment content 0.675%), flesh self-color, near fruit face red, soft, juicy, sweet and sour flavor, soluble solids content 12-13% higher. The fruit surface is tough, the storability is good, the single fruit weight is 14 grams, the maximum fruit weight is 18 grams, the average yield per plant is about 150 grams. The planting period is in early March and the mature period is in May.

5. Zaoguang strawberry: Zaoguang strawberry is suitable for growth in the southern region, with large fruit, conical fruit, neck at the base, dark red (carmine pigment 0.66%), bright luster, tough fruit, high hardness, good storability, red pulp, soft and dense flesh, sweet and concentrated flavor, soluble solids content 11.4%, vitamin C content 51.0 mg / 100g, germination period in Nanjing area in February. The flowering period is March and the harvest period is from April to May.

6. Samsung strawberries: Samsung strawberries are suitable for growth in southern China, with medium and large fruit, long conical shape, narrow apex, narrow shoulder, dark red (carmine pigment content 1.55%), red pulp, slightly hollow core, fine flesh and much juice. the taste of Phoenix is sweet and sour, and the soluble solids are 10.6%. The fruit has the advantages of hard surface, good storability and good processing quality. it is made into grass mold juice with bright color and slow fading. The harvest time is from late April to late May, from early June to mid-July, and from late July to mid-August, respectively.

7. Virginia strawberries: Virginia strawberries are suitable for greenhouse cultivation, with long conical or long flat wedge-shaped fruit, dark red and bright color, sweet and sour taste, high hardness, resistance to storage and transportation, large fruit, the maximum single fruit weight can exceed 100 grams, and the average weight of the first sequence fruit is about 42 grams. In the solar greenhouse, it can blossom and bear fruit for many times from late November to June to July of the following year.

8. Ningyu strawberry: Ningyu strawberry is suitable for planting in Jiangsu Province. The fruit is conical, red, glossy, seed distribution is rare and uniform, fruit surface is smooth, fruit setting rate is high, deformed fruit is few, and its appearance is neat and beautiful. The average fruit weight is 15.5 grams. The pulp is orange-red, the pith is orange, the flavor is excellent, the sweet fragrance is strong, the sour taste is very light, the soluble solids content is 10.7%, and the average yield per mu is 2017 kg.
