The number of tourists in Hsinchu County reached a new high and ranked first in the country in terms of accommodation and catering sales.

Hsinchu County has a record high number of tourists, and its accommodation and catering sales rank first in China.

According to the Hsinchu County Government Transportation and Tourism Office's "Hsinchu County Tourist Statistics Table," Hsinchu County had 5,993,823 tourists in 1998, and 8,580,739 tourists in 103, an increase of 43.16%, another record high. Meanwhile, the sales volume and growth rate of profitable enterprises of accommodation and catering in Hsinchu County rose rapidly to 112.75%, ranking first in the country.

According to the statistics of the Statistics Department of the Ministry of Finance, from 1998 to 103, the sales of profit-making enterprises in the accommodation and catering industry in Hsinchu County increased from 4.759 billion yuan to 10.125 billion yuan. The growth rate of accommodation and catering industry in the past six years was 112.75% (the national average growth rate was 65.49%), ranking first in the country. It is obvious that the promotion of tourism policies and marketing by the county government in recent years have led to an increase in local output value, with fruitful results.

Sightseeing tourism is one of the five major axes of industrial development of Hsinchu County government. With the long-term efforts of the county government team, combining cultural creativity, exquisite agriculture (rural leisure), and connecting tourist hot spots to form a line, extending the network, constructing a rich tourism and leisure network, successfully attracting tourists and driving business opportunities in accommodation and catering services.

The Hsinchu County Office of Budget, Accounting and Statistics said: The sales statistics of profit-making enterprises are based on the information submitted by taxpayers when filing business tax returns. After being registered and established by the local IRS, they are sent to the Finance and Taxation Information Center for compilation. The tax industry code attribution is also determined according to the industry code accepted by the tax payer for business registration by the local IRS.
