New Taipei City sees the advantages of signing the Economic Cooperation Agreement (ANZTEC) between Taiwan and New Zealand, and immediately extends the development of New Taipei's biotechnology industry to the southern hemisphere to vigorously expand business opportunities. Eight New Zealand health care and biotechnology manufacturers formed a delegation to Taiwan to hold a Taiwan-New Zealand business opportunity and technology exchange negotiation fair in the New North Municipal Government. Fifteen new North biotechnology manufacturers participated to negotiate cooperation mechanisms such as Taiwan agents, pathways, OEM, raw material suppliers, etc. It is estimated that the first wave of cooperation will create 30 million business opportunities.

Ye Huiqing, director of Economic Development of New Taipei City, said that since Taiwan and New Zealand signed the Taiwan-New Zealand Economic Cooperation Agreement (ANZTEC) in 2013, many raw materials and products will gradually reduce tariffs, or even enjoy zero tariff treatment, which not only symbolizes China's policy goal of integrating into regional integration, connecting the Asia-Pacific region, and expanding the world, but also substantially promotes Taiwan-New Zealand bilateral industrial cooperation, investment and other economic exchanges. The city is optimistic about the advantages of New Zealand's agricultural biotechnology industry. since July 22 last year, witnessed by Taipei Mayor Zhu Lilun and Serena Chui, deputy representative of the New Zealand Commercial and Industrial Office, the New Taipei Biotechnology Industry Development Alliance and the New Zealand Biotechnology Association NZBIO signed a friendship agreement to jointly establish a mechanism and platform for industrial cooperation between the two sides, and strengthen the exchange of industrial innovation and upgrading.

In this negotiation and exchange activity, a number of biotech-related goods are subject to tariff reduction. The New Zealand Commercial and Industrial Office has invited eight manufacturers of honey, dairy products, and health food to come to Taiwan. Combined with resources such as the New North Biotechnology Alliance, the Biotechnology Center, and the Biomedical Promotion Group, the five-day visit itinerary of Taiwan's investment environment experience sharing meeting, Taiwan-New Zealand industrial cooperation seminar, Taiwan-New Zealand business opportunity fair, and channel visit were jointly conducted.

Among them, honey products brought by New Zealand manufacturer Manawa Honey NZ, raw materials using Manuka Honey honey is a traditional raw material used by New Zealand aborigines, in addition to the general antibacterial properties of honey, should also be used to maintain health, help digestion and other purposes.
