The number of business registrants in Taichung City increased by 910 in the first half of this year, accounting for 19.35% of the total number of new households in the country, with six cities ranking first, more than double the number of new households in the same period last year. The Economic and Development Bureau of the Taichung Municipal Government said that the economic environment of Taichung City is excellent. According to the Taichung Economic and Development Bureau, the top five new business registrations in the first half of the year were 234 in wholesale and retail, 171 in construction, 168 in accommodation and catering, 166 in manufacturing, and 49 in professional, scientific and technical services.

The amount of business registration capital increased by 219 million yuan in the first half of the year, with the largest increase of 72.3 million yuan in the manufacturing industry, accounting for 32.92%. The construction industry and wholesale and retail industries ranked second and third, accounting for 27.67% and 24.25% of the total increase, respectively.

In addition, the number of company registrants in Taichung City increased by 1461 in the first half of this year, accounting for 16.6% of the total number of new companies in the country, ranking third among the six capitals. The top five new industries are manufacturing 506, construction 313, professional, scientific and technical services 153, wholesale and retail 124, and finance and insurance 121. In terms of family growth rate, the top three mining and gravel industries, agriculture, forestry, fishery and animal husbandry, electricity and natural gas supply industries had growth rates of 57.14%, 38.46% and 15.38%, respectively.

The registered capital of the company increased by a total of 24.6 billion yuan, of which the capital of the manufacturing industry increased the most, reaching 8.5 billion yuan, accounting for 34.62%, followed by the financial and insurance industry 5 billion yuan, accounting for 20.66%, and the third was the information and communications industry 3.2 billion yuan, accounting for 13.27%.
