Cherry is the transliteration of the English word cherry, which is literally translated as "cherry" in Guangdong and Hong Kong, but it does not refer to a small, red, thin-skinned Chinese cherry, but a large, thick imported cherry from the United States, Canada, Chile and other American countries.

Cherry producing areas in the world are mainly distributed in the United States, Canada, Chile, Australia, Europe and other places, while Chinese cherries are mainly produced in Shandong, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan, Gansu, Shaanxi and so on.

The origin of cherries can be traced back to the Stone Age in minor Asia. They were distributed throughout prehistoric Europe and were brought to America by early immigrant ships in 1692. The production of cherries in the northwest of the United States now began in 1847. The main varieties are Binying, Lin Bao and Renee, accounting for more than 90% of cherry production in the northwest of the United States.

Cherry is particularly high in iron content, located in the first of all kinds of fruits, with regulating qi, invigorating spleen and stomach, dispelling rheumatism, "good face color, good ambition" effect, good for loss of appetite, indigestion, rheumatic pain and so on. Eating cherries regularly can supplement the demand for iron in the body and promote hemoglobin regeneration, which can not only prevent and cure iron deficiency anemia, but also enhance physique, brain and intelligence.
