Bananas are native to southeastern Asia and are cultivated in Taiwan, Hainan, Guangdong, Guangxi and other regions of China. Bananas are fragrant and nutritious, can be harvested all the year round, and are also valued in temperate regions. After fruiting, the banana plant withered and died, and the sucking roots grown from the rhizome continued to propagate. Each plant could survive for many years, and its progeny depended on root transplantation.

Growth habits of bananas

Bananas like hot and humid climate and grow exuberantly in fields with deep soil, loose soil and good drainage. Wild bananas are cultivated by seeds, and artificial bananas can be cultivated by sucking roots and pseudobulbs, and the first harvest takes 10 to 15 months, and then almost continuously.
