Green orchid is one of the very excellent indoor decoration plants, also known as devil vine, stone citrus, etc., is a large evergreen vine climbing plant of unicorn leaf of Araceae, originally from Solomon Islands in Oceania, and is cultivated in Guangdong, Fujian and Shanghai of our country. It is widely used in indoor potted ornamental plants, with the meaning of "watching happiness". Let's take a look at how to raise potted green orchids.

Growth habits of Magnolia paniculata

Green orchid is a negative plant, which likes warm and humid environment, requires loose, fertile soil, good drainage, hot and humid environment, overwintering temperature should not be lower than 15 ℃, basin soil should keep moist, should often spray water to the leaf surface, improve air humidity, in order to facilitate the growth of gas roots, potted plants should choose rotten leaf soil, partial acidity is better. Indoor cultivation can be placed next to the window, but to avoid direct sunlight. Too strong sunlight will burn the leaves of the orchid, and the shade will make the beautiful markings on the leaves disappear, usually receiving four hours of scattered light, and the growth and development of the orchid is the best.

The propagation method of green orchid

1. Cuttage: the cuttage propagation of Magnolia lanceolata is generally carried out at the end of spring and the beginning of summer. 15cm branches are cut from healthy plants, potted with loam, watered and moisturized, and can take root and sprout in about 30 days.

2. Striping: the propagation of the green orchid is to press the stem of the green orchid with a heavy object, when the aerial root is buried in the soil, it can take root, wait for the growth of new leaves, and can be separated from the mother plant.

How to raise potted green orchids?

1. Soil: the rotten leaf soil with fertile, loose and good drainage should be selected when potted. The plant is shade-tolerant and can be placed in the sunny part of the room for four seasons. In the dark room, it should be moved to the environment with strong light every half a month to restore for a period of time, otherwise it is easy to make the internodes grow and the leaves become smaller.

2, temperature: green orchid likes hot and humid environment, green orchid can pass the winter safely above 10 ℃, generally can grow normally above 20 ℃. Therefore, when raising green orchids in winter, we should pay attention to keeping warm, reduce the number of windows as far as possible, and avoid frostbite on the leaves of green orchids. In addition, but also to avoid excessive temperature difference, do not put the green orchid close to the heat source.

3, lighting: green orchid likes shade, can not be exposed to the sun for a long time, otherwise it will burn the edge of the leaf. But it should be noted that the orchid should not be placed in a completely shaded environment, but should be provided with enough light for photosynthesis.

4, moisture: green orchid watering is appropriate to wet, do not dry basin soil, otherwise it will easily cause yellow leaves and poor plant shape. But watering should be appropriate, too much watering will cause stagnant water in the basin soil, causing rotten roots, withered leaves and so on. Watering can be controlled at low temperatures in winter and more watering during the growing period. In addition, we should also pay attention to spray water on the leaf surface to wash away the dust on the leaf surface, so as to keep the leaves bright and green.

5. Fertilizer: green orchid is mainly poured and sprayed with liquid inorganic fertilizer before winter, the time is about 15 days. After winter, fertilizer is mainly sprayed on the leaf surface, mainly sprayed through the stomata on the leaf surface, and the fertilizer is absorbed through the stomata on the leaf surface, and the fertilizer effect can act directly on the leaf surface. Foliar fertilizer should use special fertilizer, ordinary inorganic fertilizer is not easy to be absorbed by foliar. Peking University Huasheng series and Japanese flowers can be used as foliar fertilizer.

6. Pruning: green orchid pruning is carried out in spring. When the stem is covered with brown column and the tip exceeds the brown column by about 20 cm, cut off the stem tip of 2-3 plants by 40 cm. When new buds and new leaves sprout after truncation, cut off the stem tips of other plants. If the whole plant or the lower half of the plant is defoliated due to freezing in winter or other reasons, the half of the stem can be cut short by 1 / 2, and the other half by 2 / 3 or 3 / 4, so that the cut mouth is staggered so that the new leaves growing meters under the cut can be quickly covered with brown columns.

Matters needing attention of green orchid

1, the green turnip hanging orchid likes to be moist, and it is better to keep the basin soil moist in the growing season. In summer, while fully watering, we should also pay attention to often spraying water to the leaves. Whether watering every day will be affected by many conditions, such as the number of basin soil, plant water, basin material, maintenance environment and so on, water consumption has a great difference, we need to follow the above principles.

2. Green orchid can not be irrigated with Amoy rice water. Although Amoy rice water has a lot of nutrients to be used, it must be retted and fermented before it can be used, otherwise it will not only give birth to insects easily, but also cause rotting roots.

3. Cymbidium lanceolata has strong negative tolerance and can be cultivated indoors all the year round. Such as outdoor training, to pay attention to sunshade, especially in summer should pay more attention to prevent direct light, otherwise it will lead to new leaves smaller, leaf color dim, while easy to burn leaf edge.
