(Taiwan TB News Network / reporter Zeng Caiyi) people who have been to Japan will think that one of the greatest charms of Japan is that dim sum food is delicious. In fact, Taiwan is not afraid to give way too much. On November 8, the Hong Junpei Culture and Education Foundation invited Hong Jianlong, vice chairman of the Taiwan Sugar Cookie and pasta Industry Association, to give a lecture on "Sugar Bread Biscuit Innovation Breakthrough". Vice Chairman Hong shares his experience with his years of experience in the biotechnology and food research and service industry, so that the public can get a glimpse of the industry.

In the past ten years, the instant noodle market has shown a stable state of development, while the candy (including chewing gum) and biscuit market has grown by a large margin. At present, the Candy and Biscuit Association has 149 member factories with an annual output value of more than US $700 million. in 2014, the total export value is about US $85 million. In view of the fact that the government has signed an ECFA agreement with Chinese mainland, negotiations on a goods trade agreement will be held quickly in the future, but how to strive for favorable conditions in the course of negotiations, and how to open up controls on the import of mainland goods, requiring our government to have overall supporting measures is really an important issue.

When Taiwan's high-quality products are exported to overseas markets, they often encounter various problems or difficulties, such as tariff and non-tariff trade barriers, inspection, and labeling. fortunately, the candy and biscuit trade union has set up two groups, the "Export Trade Group" and the "Import Trade Group" to deal with it.

The amendment to the Food Hygiene Management Law was formally implemented on June 21, 102. The revised law stipulates that food labeling should be added, such as "marking the manufacturer, indicating the percentage of the main contents of specific products, and those who mix more than two kinds of food additives shall not only indicate the name of the use."

In addition, Hong Jianlong, vice chairman of the Sugar Trade Association, said that products exported to Southeast Asian countries often face high tariffs of more than 20%. However, due to the signing of FTA between Chinese mainland and ASEAN, the tariffs taught are only less than 10%, and Taiwan's candy and biscuit products are already at a disadvantage in this region. In addition, the tariff rates of some candy and biscuit products in the United States, Australia and Canada are still relatively high, such as 9.5% for Canadian chewing gum and 15% for Malaysian chocolate. If China joins TPP, it will help related products enhance their price competitiveness and consolidate my position in major overseas markets in the future.

In addition, in the future, if all TPP member states can reconcile relevant technical regulations (such as food packaging labeling, food safety, etc.), it will help our domestic food management system to be in line with international standards, not only to get more appropriate management on the relevant domestic obligations, but also to reduce the relevant obligations of their exports to other countries and strengthen the export competitiveness of our products.

If Taiwan factories want to find a way out of their own way, they still have to keep their roots in Taiwan, because technology is prone to outflow, especially in food-related industries, which must be cultivated deeply and develop technology, which is not so easy to cultivate.
