Spring wheat is planted in very cold places in winter, because it is too cold to sow in winter, so it is only planted after the beginning of spring, called spring wheat, spring sowing and autumn harvest; winter wheat is planted in warmer places, sowing in autumn and summer harvest, for example, northeast China is spring wheat. North China and its south are winter wheat.

The difference between Spring Wheat and Winter Wheat in China

1. Winter wheat has a strong ability to resist cold in the process of growth, and its seedlings can survive the winter. when spring comes, the seedlings divide iniquity very quickly, squat and grow up, and the flour ground by winter wheat is very delicious.

2. Spring wheat has strong drought resistance, short spike and short growth period, so it is suitable for sowing in spring, but it is not as delicious as winter wheat flour.

3. Spring wheat is planted in very cold places in winter. Because it is too cold in winter to sow seeds, it is called spring wheat only after the beginning of spring. Winter wheat is planted in warmer places, sowing in winter and summer harvest. For example, the northeast of our country is spring wheat. North China and its south are winter wheat.

4. Winter wheat should be planted in autumn and harvested at the end of spring. In China, it is generally bounded by the Great Wall, with spring wheat in the north and winter wheat in the south.

Planting distribution of spring wheat and winter wheat in China

According to the sowing time, it can be divided into winter wheat and spring wheat. China is dominated by winter wheat, and there are three major wheat producing areas in China:

1. Northern winter wheat area. Mainly distributed in the Qinling Mountains, north of the Huaihe River, south of the Great Wall, where winter wheat production accounts for about 56% of the country's total wheat output. It is mainly distributed in Henan, Hebei, Shandong, Shaanxi and Shanxi provinces.

2. Southern winter wheat area. Mainly distributed in the south of the Huaihe River in the Qinling Mountains. Here is the main rice producing area in China, planting winter wheat is beneficial to improve the multiple cropping index and increase grain yield. It is characterized by high commodity rate. The main producing areas are concentrated in Jiangsu, Sichuan, Anhui and Hubei provinces.

3. Spring wheat area. Mainly distributed to the north of the Great Wall. The temperature in this area is generally low and the production season is short, so it is mainly one crop a year, and the main producing provinces are Heilongjiang, Gansu and Inner Mongolia.
