The 2016 Central Taiwan Lantern Festival will be staged at Taichung Park, Qingshui Port Art Center and Fengyuan Huludun Park from now to February 29th. In the 18 years since the Lantern Festival was held in Taichung, a light area has been set up in the coastal area for the first time. On the evening of the 17th, the lights were grandly turned on at the Hong Kong Arts Center. The main light "Hongfu Qi Tianshui Sheng Sheng", by the international well-known brand "Big mouth Monkey", shows the momentum of sitting like a mountain, with surrounding colorful lights, bright sea line night sky.

At 8 p.m. on the 17th, Pan Wenzhong, vice mayor of Taichung, accompanied by Chen Shengshan, director of tourism, Wang Zhicheng, director of culture, and Tsai Shiyin, secretary of civil affairs, presided over the lighting ceremony of the arts center in Qingshui Port District, turning on the main lamp "Hongfu Qi Tianshui Daisheng", symbolizing "sitting in Qingshui Town and Wei in all directions." City councillors Wang Liren, Yang Dianzhong, you Biling and Yan limin were also present to participate in the event.

Vice Mayor Pan Wenzhong said that Taichung has held Lantern Festival every year since 1999. After taking office, Mayor Lin Jialong emphasized art going to the countryside and cultural equality. Therefore, for the first time this year, lights were set up along the sea line, especially combining Western elements. Authorized by the well-known international brand "Big mouth Monkey", which is favored by children and big children, big-billed monkey lanterns are displayed in the light areas of Qingshui and Taichung Park, with changeable, rock and play big-billed monkeys and his friends. Lead the people to celebrate the Lantern Festival.

Taichung City Tourism Bureau said that the Qingshui Lantern District also includes 10 sets of theme lights, and plans to display more than 30 lanterns, including 2018 Huabo lampholders, among which, the family friends of the big-billed monkey, Tang Sanzang, Sha Wujing, Zhu Bajie and the lively and lovely little monkey lanterns greet the guests. The characteristic lantern group extends all the way from the Hong Kong Arts Center to the opposite Shimizu Xinyi family village, showing nostalgic and retro customs and welcome the public to watch.
