The collection infrastructure of the 22.25-hectare Taichung Sugar Plant in the eastern district of Taichung City was completed on the 2nd. Mayor Lin Jialong said that in the future, it will become the "Pearl of the Eastern District" with the combination of ecology, humanities and commerce. According to the planning of the Land Bureau, the expropriation of the section includes 13.37 hectares of public facilities (including 6.09 hectares of ecological pools, 2.23 hectares of roads, etc.) and 8.88 hectares of commercial land. After the opening of the New Jianguo Market in September this year, coupled with the viaduct of the railway, we will make every effort to attract enterprises to invest in the commercial center and promote cultural innovation and industrial development in the Eastern District, Gancheng and train station areas.

Mayor Lin Jialong said that over the past 20 years, this block has been regarded as an obstacle to local development. now that the infrastructure development of the section has been completed, there is an ecological pool in the park, and the business office of the old sugar factory will be transformed into a storyteller. Coupled with the relocated Jianguo market and commercial center, it will jointly attract investment with Taiwan Sugar to create a park with ecological, cultural and commercial functions, attract good investment to promote local development and promote the regeneration of the Eastern District.

A 6.09-hectare ecological pool and 12 precious old trees in the park have also been completely preserved by the municipal government. Mayor Lin Jialong specially stressed that this will give full consideration to ecological conservation. With regard to the benefits of investment, the mayor believes that the levy of the Taichung Sugar Plant section close to the railway station, Gancheng transfer station and Taichung Park will attract enterprises to set up business offices, invest in leisure and entertainment, and shopping centers, which are estimated to bring more than NT $10 billion in benefits.

Cheng Mei-Hua, deputy manager of the Zhongzhang District Office of the Taiwan Sugar Company, said that Taiwan Sugar has approached many investors and most of them are interested in this block. Taiwan Sugar will meet the needs of investors and develop it by stages to recreate the prosperity of the Eastern District.
