Sclerocalyx is an annual or biennial gramineae plant. Seed reproduction, suitable seed germination depth in soil is 0.12-2.4cm, more than 2.4cm difficult to emerge, strong tillering, about 6 tillers per plant, twinning branches. Most of them grow in hills, ditches and fields, mainly harming dry crops such as wheat. The average daily temperature after sowing wheat in autumn is 16-18℃ for 3-5 days, forming the peak of grass emergence, that is, after wheat emergence to 1 leaf stage.

1) The soil is closed. After sowing and before seedling of barley and wheat, spraying with 48% trifluralin EC 80ml +25% chlortoluron WP 250g + water 40kg/mu, the control effect was above 98%. Barley, wheat sowing should improve the quality of soil preparation and sowing quality, in the case of poor soil moisture to increase water consumption, in order to improve the control effect.

2. Stem and leaf treatment. Barley, wheat after sowing before seedling without soil sealing treatment of the field, can be used stem and leaf treatment. Before winter, spraying 75% isoproturon WP 100g/mu with water 40~ 50kg/mu during the period from 3 leaf stage to tillering stage of barley and wheat, the control effect reached 93%, or spraying 75% isoproturon WP 150g/mu with water 50kg/mu before jointing stage of barley and wheat in the following spring, the control effect reached more than 90%.
