The sudden drop of temperature in winter can easily lead to the decline of pig immunity, disease resistance and susceptibility to various epidemic diseases. The key technical measures in this season should be to resist cold and keep warm, improve the immunity of pigs and enhance the ability of disease resistance.

First, it is afraid of cold, and the suitable growth temperature for newborn pigs is 32 ℃ ~ 35 ℃, and that for medium and large pigs is 15 ℃ ~ 25 ℃. Low temperature had a serious effect on pig growth and weight gain, when the pig house temperature was lower than the lower limit of the suitable temperature, the daily gain decreased by 17.8g when the pig house temperature decreased by 1 ℃, and the weight gain rate decreased significantly and feed consumption increased significantly if the house temperature decreased below 4 ℃. Therefore, the winter pig house should strengthen the warmth, reduce the metabolic consumption of pigs and improve the feeding benefit.

Second, it is afraid of tide; when the ambient temperature in the house is low, the relative humidity is high, which will affect the production performance of pigs, especially to piglets. The average weight gain of piglets with high relative humidity in winter is about 48% lower than that of the control group, and is prone to diseases such as dysentery and enteritis. The suitable growth humidity for pigs is 50%-80%. The house can be kept dry by means of ventilation, increasing light, laying warm cushion and other measures to prevent moisture and keep dry.

Third: afraid of the wind; pigs are most afraid of "piercing wind" and "thief wind" in severe winter, which will not only lower the temperature, but also cause cold, stroke, rheumatism and other diseases in pigs. In winter, the pigsty must hang cotton curtains, block the wind tunnel and close the doors and windows to prevent the cold wind from blowing directly into the pigsty and affect the normal development of pigs.

Fourth: afraid of cold; the temperature of drinking water and feed in winter is closely related to the development and healthy growth of pigs. When the temperature of water and feed is too low, if the temperature of water and feed is raised to the level of 39 ℃, the pig will consume a lot of heat, and about 0.5 kilograms and 0.75 kilograms of concentrate feed will be consumed in vain to maintain body temperature. Therefore, it is best to feed warm material and warm water in winter, and the water temperature is kept at about 37 ℃.

Fifth: fear of disease; if the winter pig house temperature is low, humidity is high, sanitation is poor, ventilation is not good, pigs are prone to disease. Therefore, we must strengthen the feeding management, keep the enclosure ventilated, clean and dry, disinfect the enclosure regularly, and it is best to take appropriate disinfection methods regularly. At the same time, observe the shape, spirit, feeding, feces, urine and breathing. Pigs should be diagnosed in time and treated in isolation as soon as possible.
