In order to protect the property safety of fishermen in Yunlin County, and to encourage active insurance, in line with the Fisheries Department's policy of encouraging owners of power fishing vessels to take out fishing vessel insurance, Yunlin County took the initiative to increase subsidies to Jiahui fishermen. Yunxian County now ranks first in the country in terms of the number of fishing boats insured.
County magistrate Li Jinyong said that considering that fishing boats are a wealth-making tool and property of fishermen, in order to ensure the property safety of fishermen and the stability of fishing boat operation, the Yunlin County government cooperated with the Fisheries Administration to reward the owners of power fishing vessels to take out fishing boat insurance.
In order to increase the insurance ratio to subsidize fishing vessels of less than 100t, plus 20% of the premium, except for fishing rafts and sampans, the rest depends on the tonnage of fishing vessels; except for subsidies from the Fisheries Department ranging from 6000 yuan to 8000 yuan, the county government can add up to 10, 000 yuan to 60, 000 yuan. 414 vessels have been insured since 102, up to 910 in 103 and 700 in 104, ranking first in the country.
If the tonnage of the fishing vessel is less than 50 tons, the subsidy of the Fisheries Department is 6,000 yuan, and the maximum increase of the county government is 10,000 yuan; if the total tonnage of the fishing vessel is more than 50 tons but less than 100 tons, the subsidy of the Fisheries Administration is 8,000 yuan, and the maximum subsidy of the county government is 60,000 yuan. According to Yunlin county government statistics, seven fishing boats that were in accident from 103 to 104 were all compensated, and the county government also called on fishermen to apply for insurance at the Yunlin fishing association.
