1. Forced lactation

Some newborn female rabbits are not strong in protecting their babies and do not breast-feed them after giving birth. In this case, compulsory breastfeeding measures can be taken. The method is to fix the female rabbit in the nest box, keep it quiet, place the baby rabbit next to the female rabbit's nipple, let it suck freely, and breast-feed forcibly 4 times a day for 5 times. 3After 5 days, the female rabbit will be fed automatically.

two。 Adjust the young rabbit

Some female rabbits give birth to a large number of babies, while others give birth to a small number of babies, so they have to adjust their foster care. First take the baby rabbits out of the nest box and divide them into nests according to their size and physique, then apply a few drops of female rabbit's milk or urine on the baby rabbits to disturb their sense of smell, prevent the female rabbits from biting or killing the young rabbits, and pay attention to the lactation of the female rabbits.

3. Artificial feeding

If the mother rabbit dies after birth, has no milk or suffers from breast disease and cannot be breastfed or without proper foster care, artificial lactation can be used. Use milk, fresh sheep's milk or condensed milk instead of breast milk. Where possible, you can use 200 milliliters of fresh milk, 3 milliliters of cod liver oil, 2 grams of salt and 1 fresh egg. Boil and sterilize before feeding, then cool to 37 ℃-38 ℃, and feed the rabbits with glass eyedroppers, syringes or plastic eye bottles.

4. Prevent rodent damage

Newborn rabbits are most vulnerable to rodent damage within 5 days after birth, so special attention should be paid to the tight closure of rabbit cages and rabbit nests. Under the condition that the cage and nest cannot be blocked, the nest box can be numbered uniformly, concentrated protection at night, sent back to the original cage during the day, and breast-fed regularly.
