Heat preservation and epidemic prevention

Winter epidemic factors often cause uneven growth of ducks, which is mainly due to the problem of heat preservation of ducklings. The temperature must be kept above 30 ℃ in the first 3 days of the rearing period to ensure that the yolk of the ducklings is absorbed completely, and there will be less breeding problems in the later stage. Ducklings need to adapt to the temperature step by step, not only can not let the north wind blow directly, but also need to be higher than the daytime temperature in the shed at night. If the duck house is too tightly sealed, it will lead to too high ammonia accumulation concentration in the house, which is more likely to cause respiratory diseases.

Effective protection against pecking feathers

The weather is dry in winter, the phenomenon of feather pecking is more obvious when breeding on the Internet, because it can not block the wind, the north wind blows directly to the ducks, which causes serious feather pecking due to excessive stress. The problem of cushion also has a great influence. It has been proved in practice that the phenomenon of woodiness caused by wood chaff as cushion is obviously more than that with shavings. The effective way to solve the phenomenon of feather pecking is that after all being reared on the ground, the duck house should be ventilated during the day, put down the wind shield at night, and make good use of the wind shield equipment to reduce stress, which can effectively reduce the occurrence of feather pecking.

Strengthen the management of bedding materials

Captive ducks should prevent bedding from being too little, too thin, too dirty and too wet in the cold winter. Because the breeding ground is wet and muddy, the cushion in the shed is too thin or there is no cushion at all, which eventually causes the duck to sleep on the cold ground or on the too wet and dirty faecal mat, which not only affects the weight gain, but also the duck's chest and abdomen feathers are easy to fall off, causing the "bare plate duck" phenomenon. This will lead to a decrease in appearance quality, affect sales and the final carcass quality, and reduce the economic benefits of raising ducks.

Artificial illumination

Due to the short growth cycle of ducks in winter, if the water is too short, it will affect the time on the market, and if the breeding time is too long, the cost will increase, so efforts should be made on the feather growth of meat ducks in winter. The time, intensity of light and the intake of trace elements are also closely related to feather growth. The poor and short natural light conditions in winter often result in the slow growth of duck feathers. Therefore, artificial supplementary light must be used in the process of raising ducks in winter. 24-hour light is used, and winter lighting must be sufficient and uniform. Finally, after 20 days of age, they were fed with trace elements to promote feather growth.
