The main purpose of raising dairy cows is to produce milk, and the appropriate fat condition is beneficial to maximize the production capacity of dairy cows, so the requirements for the fat condition of dairy cows are different in different lactation stages. Fat generally requires moderate, too thin indicates that dairy cows are malnourished, overweight is not good, resulting in overnutrition, feed waste, but also easy to cause difficult pregnancy and postpartum obesity syndrome, fatty liver and other diseases, milk production will not be increased.

Regular evaluation of the fat condition of the cattle and timely adjustment of the feeding scheme and diet formula according to the fat condition can improve the production level and reduce the feeding cost. The fat condition of dairy cows was evaluated by a 5-point system, with low fat and high fat, and the suitable fat condition was between 2.5 and 3.5 points. The optimum body weight scores of dairy cows at different physiological and lactation stages were as follows: 3.5 points during delivery; during the first three months of lactation, the nutrition of the cow was negative balance, the body weight gradually decreased, the cow weight decreased by 1 kg, the nano yield increased by 7.5 kg (milk fat rate 3.5%), and the general milk production peak was 2.0 min. 2.5 points. After entering the late stage of lactation, the excess energy was stored, and the body weight increased again. At the seventh lactation month, the fat condition was at 2.5 ~ 3.0 points, and when the milk was stopped, it was 3.0 points.

The relationship between body weight and body weight can be estimated according to the following formula: chest circumference (m) × chest circumference (m) × oblique length (m) × 90 = moderate body weight (3 points). Cattle of the same size have a weight of 60 kg more, a point more fat, a weight less than 60 kg and a point less fat. For example, for a cow with a chest circumference of 2.02 meters and an oblique length of 1.63 meters, the weight of the cow with 3.0 points is 600 kg (2.02 × 2.02 × 1.63 × 90), if the weight is 660 kg, the weight is 4.0; if the weight is 540 kg, then the body condition is 2.0, and so on.
