It is time for the tung blossom season again. For the first time this year, the Hakka Tung Flower Festival in Hsinchu City, with the theme of "Forest Tung Festival", will be staged from 1pm to 5pm on Saturday (23rd) at the Fengfeng Botanical Garden and Tonghua Square, where there will be lovely and funny Hakka children's drama performances, insect costume parties, fun persimmon DIY and tung flower hiking. Mayor Lin Zhijian invited parents and children to enjoy the flowers and be close to nature.

The tung flowers around Tonghua Square are now in bud. Mayor Lin Zhijian said: "the weather is clear and tung flowers will bloom one after another in the past few days. People are welcome to enjoy the romantic beauty of April snow on Saturday." It also said that Hsinchu City is a veritable city for children, with children under the age of 14, accounting for 17.69% of the city's population. During this visit to Japan, whenever the high birth rate in Hsinchu City is mentioned, it is always admired and exclaimed by the Japanese side. Therefore, this Hakka Tung Flower Festival is different from the past, especially adding the element of "parent-child", so that parents and children can have more interaction and participate in the activities of teaching and fun. Let children know Hakka, fall in love with Hakka, and inherit Hakka culture.

In particular, the Fengfeng Botanical Garden, where there are not only paulownia flowers, but also rich animal and plant ecology, is most suitable for children to experience nature. Mayor Lin Zhijian stressed that friends of Hakka ethnic groups in Hsinchu account for about 1x3 of the city's population. The city government attaches importance to the inheritance of Hakka culture and actively promotes various Hakka affairs, including transferring Hakka affairs to the Culture Bureau, setting up independent departments, and striving from the Hakka Committee for the construction of a "Hakka Exhibition Center" next to the City Expo Hall, so that Hakka culture, mother tongue, food and architecture can be carried forward, and Hakka festivals are held every year. Show the charming Hakka culture.
