Due to the continuous planting of cucumber in greenhouse, Fusarium wilt occurred seriously, which seriously affected the growth and yield of cucumber. In order to solve this problem, black-seeded pumpkin is often used as rootstock to control the occurrence of cucumber Fusarium wilt. At present, many greenhouse cucumbers are in the slow seedling stage after planting, and the early ones have entered the early stage of melon setting. According to the author's on-the-spot investigation, this period of cucumber is very easy to grow adventitious roots on the vines above the grafting interface, and if it is not removed in time, it will easily lead to Fusarium wilt and affect the yield of cucumber.

I. the causes of adventitious roots of cucumber.

First, the grafting interface is too low, or planting is too deep, the grafting interface is directly buried in the soil, cucumber seedlings produce adventitious roots. Second, the seedling vines tilt, cucumber vines come into contact with the surface soil, resulting in adventitious roots. Third, the soil surface humidity is too high, although the cucumber vine above the grafting interface did not touch the surface, but due to suitable environmental conditions, the cucumber base is also easy to produce adventitious roots.

Second, the harm of cucumber producing adventitious roots.

If the adventitious roots of cucumber are not removed in time, cucumber can not play the role of grafting by using its own root system or the combination of pumpkin and cucumber root system, and it is easy to be infected with Fusarium wilt, resulting in poor plant growth in the early stage and dead seedlings in the middle and later stage, which seriously affects the yield. If the adventitious root is removed too late, the nutrients produced by the plant will supply cucumber root development nearby. The root system of pumpkin can not get enough nutrition, which leads to dysplasia, even if it is removed later, it will also have a certain effect on the growth and development of cucumber.

Third, the removal and prevention of adventitious roots of cucumber.

First, the cucumber adventitious root is carried out before it is buried in the soil, and the base of the adventitious root is removed with a clean blade. The second is to choose sunny and warm weather to facilitate wound healing. Third, for the seedlings that are too deep, after the root system is removed, the soil at the base is removed to expose the grafting interface. Fourth, the melon seedlings should be hung straight after the inclined root is cut off. Fifth, reasonable watering to avoid flooding and prevent the surface from getting too wet. Sixth, let the grafting interface on the top of the plastic film, the plastic film will be sealed strictly to prevent adventitious roots.
