In chicken production, feed cost accounts for a large proportion of chicken cost, saving feed cost is also an important way to reduce chicken cost. So how to reduce the cost of feed?

First, feed storage. The feed storage house should be built in a ventilated, sunny, high and dry location with convenient transportation, with ventilation, rodent and bird prevention facilities, equipment and system, so as to prevent other animals from stealing food, polluting the feed or making it mildew and deteriorate and lose its due value. Different batches and types of feed are stored in separate stacks to prevent the bottom feed from being forgotten and moldy.

Second, feeding management. The installation position of the sink and material trough should be in line with science, and the sink should be overhauled frequently to prevent leakage into the material trough. Clean and disinfect the trough in time to prevent the feed from becoming moldy when it sticks to the trough for a long time. There should be special tools for transportation and feed addition during feeding, so as to prevent the feed from being contaminated and inedible; it should be fed by a special person, in case the feeder is not skilled enough to sprinkle the feed on the ground. Regular and quantitative feeding to make laying hens form conditioned reflexes, have a strong appetite during feeding, and keep little or no leftovers in the trough, so as to reduce waste.

Third, chicken flock management. The successful beak breaking of chicks in the period of feeding can not only prevent ploughing but also reduce the damage caused by anal pecking, ensure the number of laying hens and the number of eggs per chicken during the laying period, and improve the feed utilization rate. Deworming regularly, do a good job of disease prevention, reduce the occurrence of disease in laying hens, improve the laying rate, and make effective use of feed resources. Diligent observation, regular inspection, found that no production or very low laying rate of chickens eliminated in time, in order to ensure a higher laying rate and improve feed utilization.

Fourth, environmental management. The temperature in the henhouse should be 15: 28 ℃. It is reported that the feed intake can be increased to 4 ℃ when the temperature is lower than 10 ℃, and the laying rate decreases significantly when the temperature is lower than 5 ℃. Reduce the stress reaction caused by abrupt climate change, temperature difference between day and night, immunization and other factors, so as to prevent feed waste indirectly caused by death, the increase of soft preserved eggs and so on.
